All the research points to unresolved #emotional issues as the real cause of #disease. When will the madness of simply treating symptoms stop?

A simply put article, with a male slant of comparing emotions with motor racing. Be aware of your #emotions, know why you're feeling it, figure out what outcome you want and then go for that outcome. As opposed to flying off the handle, sinking deep into the sofa or losing sleep about future events that may never happen.

Who would like to join me? I'm enrolled and just a little bit excited. Breathing influences #emotions, and visa verse.

If #emotions are learned and not innate, when do we start learning? In utero? My mind is just spinning with what this all really means, and how it effects what I have believed.

More support for #Bibliotherapy. It seems that reading quality works can assist in #emotional #healing. I'm reading "Family Matters" by Rohinton Mistry. What are you reading that has been emotionally enlightening?

Some nice advice, and when it comes to Point 3, I believe it can be simplified to just, "What am I afraid of?" #emotions #fear

Basically, this study shows that happy #fulfilling #emotions positively affect performance. It's a long read and a small sample size and ultimately it is up to the athletes to be aware of their emotions and recognise which emotion gives them the best performance. I coached an elite athlete in the 90's and she competed best when she was angry. Even though #anger is an emotion that takes energy as opposed to #joy which gives energy, in an explosive sport like Freestyle Aerials you can afford to spend a little on anger, if you think it helps. I would think with endurance sports, such as cross country skiing, you would want all the energy you could get from joy. Strangely I put in my best performances in Freestyle Aerials when I was feeling #sad.

Get creative, but perhaps not too creative that it overcompensates for some torment. (Cobain, Van Gough, Hemmingway etc...) #emotions #creative
