Here's my latest blog post. I really hope I can make this happen some day. http://freedomisthedream.com/a-tribute-to-dean-kamen-and-his-wheelchair
This post is a tribute to Dean Kamen and his wheelchair. Who is Dean Kamen, you ask? He is one of our great inventors. Though you may not recognize his name, you have surely heard of his most well known invention, the Segway...

It was a fun show! I just happened to be passing by that day when I saw the line. I had forgotten they were going to be in town. When I asked a group of girls how much the tickets cost, one of them gave me an extra ticket she had for free! I'm glad I got to see it, and thanks to whoever you are who gave me the ticket :D

This is a nice price drop on the Moto 360! I'm tempted to buy it because out of the few Android Wear watches I've been able to try on, it is the only one that didn't look ridiculously huge on my skinny wrist. However, the price drop might mean a new 360 is about to be released soon. If the new one doesn't have a "flat tire" at the bottom, I think I would like that better. I guess I should wait and see unless somebody has some inside knowledge about what the 2nd gen 360 will look like.

Being a big Nexus fan, I just had to take a chance at winning these two new devices. It's not my year to buy a new Nexus device but I would gladly accept free ones. 😀

I would totally love to be in business with +Google. I wonder what +Larry Page and +Sergey Brin would think of this. Maybe they will hear my ideas and take a chance with me in a test market.

Technology has helped me do more as a quadriplegic than I could have ever accomplished on my own. My quality of life has gotten better as technology has advanced, and I often imagine what else could be possible with each new generation of the tech we use every day. I'm excited to see what Google and their partners can design for a better future for the disabled.

What if we worked together to create a more accessible world for all?

Today we’re announcing $20 million in grant funding through the Google Impact Challenge: Disabilities. We’re challenging the thinkers, the doers, the builders to create technologies that can make a difference to the one billion people around the world living with a disability.

Together, let’s ask the right questions, find new answers, and build a better world, faster. Join us: http://get.google.com/disabilitiesimpactchallenge/
Let’s work together to help change this. The ‘Google Impact Challenge: Disabilities’ aims to expand opportunity and independence for people with disabilities. Click here to take part.

I try not to flood my social networks with things like this but I would really like to get a Chromebook. The odds of me winning are not good but it's worth a shot, and this equals another entry.

This is free at the time of this posting. I'm guessing it's only for a limited time, probably just today. These are great tunes from a great movie :)

Man, I wish I would have known about this before I ordered the Rival. I tried a demo first but I thought it just needed the computer system adjusted to suit my driving style. I got the seat with the lift because it would make things more accessible for high counters/tables, transfers into bed and other such things. However, now my seat sits so far up in front of the back wheels that the balance and traction is way off. This is dangerous when I'm driving through town on uneven sidewalks and corner ramps at 8 mph. I love the speed but even in my first outing with the chair, I felt the thing slide and go in different directions than I was steering it to. There was more than one occasion where I had to totally stop the chair and then make corrections based on which way the chair would let me go without losing grip. Sometimes, it doesn't have the torque power to get my front wheels out of a crack in the sidewalk or turn the way I want if it's on an odd incline. I'm going to have the rehab company I ordered it from try to move the seat back as far as they can but there isn't much room before the footplates hit the front wheels. Maybe some more computer adjustments will help with the torque. I love the way the Rival looks but so far, I'm not so happy with the way it performs.

Wesley, your story and problem is exactly like mines. I just got a new Quantum Rival in replacing my Invacare of over 10 years...and I'm not happy with it.  I love it at first, the speed and the look, the big front wheels, yet my experience with it is awful thus far.  Sliding on slated sidewalks, losing traction on ramps, my wheelchair lift...so dangerous!  Hopefully, my provider guy can program it to work properly.  I  should have chosen a Mid-wheel, but I wasn't familiar with them at all...yet when I tested one out,  I loved it.  My concerns about them was tipping it and getting stuck.  Go figure.  Since I had my new Quantum, I got stuck, I almost slid off my sidewalk, and sometimes I had to result in driving forward onto my lift in order for the chair to get up that little hump when getting INTO the van.  I'm hoping that an adjustment of the anti-tip wheels will fix that problem.  Right now, Praise God, I'm having regrets.  I researched all the chairs that I was interested in, but unfortunately, there wasn't enough "mishap" videos to go by to make a very decisive choice.  I was searching for folks getting stuck and other problems....only found one, this one.

I've only eaten here once, and I remember getting a really *huge* sandwich. I know that's what most people enjoy about this place but it just wasn't enough to entice me back.

I like eating here once in a while when I'm down at Riverfront park because of the unique menu and flavors. The prices are a bit spendy on my budget but the food is good; I like the atmosphere, and it's a nice treat.
