I found udacity.com interesting, although probably more suited if you have limited experience with programming in general

And, as with many things, I split the difference. It seems I'm doomed to be a permanent resident alien.

So is this a sign of short-sightedness and firefox's growing irrelevance... Or that "metro" is pretty much dead on the desktop.. Or some mix there of?

I don't think it's becoming irrelevant — it doesn't have the marketshare that Chrome sees now. But looking at both MNsure and MN.gov portal statistics as an example, Firefox's percentage hasn't changed much over the past few years.  Sure that doesn't mean it's the hottest browser on the market and no it will not likely ever overtake the marketshare Chrome has gained, but I don't think it's become irrelevant.

Opera...now there's an irrelevant browser, still enjoying an average of 1% or less of visits on Minnesota state government websites.

So I'm thinking of setting up own cloud on my raspberry pi. Any folks here do this? How well does it work?

If you have FAT32 as files system on the storage device, then 2 Gbyte is the largest file you can have.

The last update to Keynote fixed many of the glaring (and stupid) glitches in the new version.  I'm still not a fan of the way the files save, and searching media is.. odd, but even with that I'm finding myself working faster with this new release.

I'll have to play with template creation so I can shrink the file sizes a bit more - I just explored the package contents of my last save and found a whole bunch of object styles saved that I REALLY do not need.

Reading this, am reminded of how God pulled on me more than devices did and I just stopped... not being a fan of mobile, just being ignant about it...

but i will say.. the web design for this is smart. it makes you wanna take the time to read it. very hard technique to pull off outside of the actual writing

I'm a Painfully Hopeful Geek-Pastor
Introduction
I’m a pastor, and a geek, and I honestly don’t know why I keep putting myself “out there” for people to see.  Actually, I’m rather introverted in my natural state.  So, while pushing the envelope and leading is kind of compulsive for me -it’s also out character.  If anyone wants to write a paper on my particular form of insanity please let me know (I could use the royalties).  Really, I’m just “painfully hopeful.”  I hope that I can be a decent pastor, geek, father, and husband.  It’s just sometimes I’m painfully aware that I’m not quite all that I want to be.  This is OK, however, because I have hope that maybe one day – I will.  “Painfully Hopeful” is my story.
