Worst car rental experience we have had. Many frustrated people waiting for their cars. Arrived at 6:00 p.m. and got on the road when it was almost dark. It took us two hours to be finally on the road!!! And it messed up our 10 day driving plans by the delay. After leaving the counter we waited about 40 minutes for the car, When it arrived we sorted all the controls out and started to set up the GPS. The GPS was in Spanish and we could not change it. The counter person could not change it. Gave us another one it needed a PIN number and the agent did not know it. Finally got one that worked. Took off in the car, hit the freeway and then the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT comes on - we had to return to the car car for another one. They wanted to give us a different smaller vehicle and we said NO same vehicle - after we spent the time to get familiar with the controls. Waited more. And then began our road trip in the dark. Day 6 or the trip the GPS stops working in the middle of nowhere and wants a PIN number!!! At the end of the trip we decided to return the car a day early because we did not want to risk missing our plane at noon the next day. Glad we did because it took another two hours on the return to sort out a refund for one day. We arrived at 7 p.m. and left there at 9 p.m. Also they did not check the mileage properly and thought we drove 22,000 miles which would have been impossible. Just terrible!

Went here for our 38th wedding anniversary on Thursday June 26th. My husband booked this as a surprise and for the deck to be special. Of course this did not happen. We did eventually get a window seat inside though. Service was slow and our server was very scarce. Someone else from the kitchen brought our main course and it was placed so quickly on the table that it almost fell on my husband's lap - he was fortunate enough to grab it in time. Nobody came to ask how the meal was, nor was pepper offered. We shared the pan fried oysters for an appetizer and were not impressed - the oysters were small and very fishy tasting. We both had the Sirloin Steak Bourbon peppercorn demi-glace and were not impressed either with mediocre taste and appearance. We ordered two Monte Cristo specialty coffees and they came to the table barely warm. We sent them back. They gave us new ones that were again just barley warm. We keep them because what can you do keep sending things back and ruin the evening? Also we found it surprising that there was no acknowledgement of our anniversary. We have found everywhere else we have been for birthdays or anniversary's the restaurant at least gives the birthday person a dessert on the house or for an anniversary one to split. It feels like this Sequoia restaurant just does not care about the service, food or the experience

We had the worst service here today. First they made a mistake with our reservation and did not have a table for us even though we called three times that morning. Finally they found a table for us and said they could add an umbrella for shade for the three 90 year olds. After being sat we asked for the umbrella and they did not have one available for the table. They moved us to another table. Fine all was well. . . We asked for water and two coffees. Then we waited for more an 1 1/2 hours for our food. Others who came after us were served their order. We asked four times of four different servers (because we could not see ours) where our food was, they said they would check and never came back to tell us. We asked if we could have water and coffee please. That did not happen either. I finally found a pitcher of water to serve our table myself. Not going back here again.
