Beautiful hotel, well maintained with nice touches like cookies at bed time and L'Occitane toiletries but watch for hidden parking taxes. They tell you it's 35 per day to valet park but fail to tell you taxes on parking are about 34%. If you are valeting your car then you may not be concerned with price, but it's something they should tell you upfront so you can make an informed decision whether to valet or park at the public parking a block down for only $34 per day with no other fees. Staff at desk is not very friendly.

Besides the big doors you need someone to actually open for you, once inside the place is swinging with live music, an excellent, cozy lounge, and attendants who seem to be watching you constantly and are ready to offer service instantly. Great for small groups, couples and Lonely travelers on the fly.

Had a tough time here when meeting a friend. Service was extremely slow and the food was cold. Midday, so that may have been the culprit.

When we arrived, they took our luggage from our car and brought them to the front where we check in, but I think it was unattended. After waiting like 15 mins for other guests checked in, we finished our checkin around 3 mins. The our luggage was gone and one of the bell boy came out of the elevator and asked if they were ours. The luggage apparently was brought to wrong room and was unattended for 20mins. Our luggage was opened and looked like someone went through them. Nothing was stolen. I'm not sure if hotel employee or some random walkby person or another guest went through our louis vuitton bag and looked for some goodies to steal, but I can't trust the hotel anymore. I would rather carry my own bag after this happening. In the night, my partner started filling up the bathtub, and the water was dark yellow. We turned the jetbath on, and there were black chunks coming out of it. It was pretty gross. We decided it was unsafe to take a bath. In the morning, there was no hot water at all so I called the front desk, apparently the hot water system broke down so there was no hot water. I asked if I had to check out same time, because I cannot get ready on time if I waited for the maintenance guy to finish. But the front desk told me unfortunately the checkout time is the same. Later they offered me to use the spa shower, but they said the hot water is from the same source so no hot water either. The person at the front desk told me a manager will call me, but no one ever called me back. And to add to this mess, the phone in the bedroom didn't work. The phone kept on dying when I picked it up, so it would hang up when the front desk called me, so I always had to cal them back with another phone by the desk. I stayed at the most expensive room available at this hotel. Overall, it was a rough stay. Never ever going back to Wedgewood. If I go back to Vancouver BC, I will stay at Blue Horizon where I usually stay. I know they are as expected, and have hot water there for sure. I told the whole story (luggage, water problem, phone) to the front desk, and they waived my valet parking fee...which should come with if I'm staying at the delux suite paying over 400 a night. It was supposed to be a treat for us, wanted to go back home really bad after this, where it's safe and warm.

Beware that the "Jacuzzi" suite isn't actually a Jacuzzi at all. It's just a soaker tub without jets. Apparently some suites do have jets but it's not clearly apparent when booking the rooms as to which ones do and do not have jets. I brought this up with the front desk and they just shrugged and said "some people like a soaker tub". Well I didn't. I would expect this type of response in a 2 star hotel but not one as "high end" as this one.
