New programing language to use?  Maybe... this article seems to be labeling #TypeScript as a new standard.  Of corse Microsoft is going to back their own programing language inside their software which will give it a huge jump start, but I'm skeptical that we'll still see it around 10 years down the road.

Another great and informative post from #css-tricks on browser detection for SVGs.  I personally have chosen NOT to use SVGs yet due to the varying browser support, maybe in a year or so I'll start making the switch.  In the mean time, if you want to use an #SVG you NEED to read this post first
