The Witcher 3 Original vs SweetFX Mod 4K Screenshot Comparison Shows Notable Graphical Differences

Not even a week has passed since the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which without any doubt is one of the few best role-playing games of the current generation, and the internet is already settling under the redundant load of content regarding the game. Regardless of all the graphics downgrade controversy, this new huge, tangential action RPG, is nothing but pure awesomeness. CD Projekt RED has already released patches for the PC version of the game that improve performance as well as give a little boost to the graphics. However, there’s a way you can enjoy much better visuals right now.

The Witcher 3 Retail Version vs Day 1 Patch Graphics Comparison Shows Minor Downgrades

After years of wait, it is finally time for millions of eager players to grab their copies of this year’s one of the most auspicious open world action role-playing video game titles. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now out on PC and both the eighth generation video game consoles, and disregarding all the graphics downgrade controversy, the definitive title in The Witcher series looks as beautiful as anything. However, it seems like the developer is still tweaking the in-game visual effects of the game, as the day 1 patch for the game improves the performance on the game on consoles, but with some minor side-effects.

The Witcher 3 – How to Run HairWorks on AMD GPUs Without Crippling Performance

Reddit user FriedBongWater has posted a very interesting tip enabling AMD cards to run The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with HairWorks enabled, without a substantial performance hit.

You can view his post along with a picture guide below:

So thanks to a wonderful user over at Guru3D, it’s been discovered that hairworks can in fact run relatively smoothly on AMD cards. I’m talking 60fps smooth guys, and the trade-off is barely noticeable.
All you need to do is create a profile for witcher3.exe in your Catalyst Control Center, then set Tessellation Mode to “Override application settings”, and finally set the Maximum Tessellation Level to either 2x, 4x, 8x or 16x.

Witcher 3 Dev Talks Modding Graphics to Make it Look Like 2013 Build

Weber was asked if via the RedKit or editing the game’s XML and INI files it’ll be possible to influence the weather system, for instance making it rain more often.

Yep, you can actually change a whole lot in that regard. : )

After the first patch way more NPCs will be crowding the environment, but those wishing to add even more will be able to do so with the RedKit.

Way more people will already be there in the first patch. But yes, if you want you can mod that, quite easily even.

The role playing game genre has evolved considerably in the just the past few years, with technology allowing for some very impressive looking games that capture our attention in novel ways. But not all are so successful in a genre that’s still associated to its table-top roots. Indeed a great many might become highly underrated except by a small yet enthusiastic community. Below represent five games that were not initially well received, though still offer a better experience than some modern RPG’s.

Keep in mind that if you enjoy RPG’s immensely, then these may not appear as being underrated by any means, but perhaps to those who aren’t familiar with the genre, will this spark some inspiration to play. The great thing is that they’re all available still today, and compatible too.

Don’t forget that this list isn’t in any particular order.
