So cool.  I love Tropico 4.  I'm thinking about starting up a new game myself.

Who wants to do this trip with me?
Peace has brought a building boom to the Somali capital Mogadishu. But will it bring tourists to the war-scarred city?

Yeah, but it feels awkward to use. Too many taps on things that aren't obvious buttons to do things, and I keep accidentally opening new panels when trying to scroll.

If they were in stock somewhere I might own one already.

What you can and cannot actually do on a Chromebook

With Chromebooks catching the right price points and garnering some positive reviews, I thought it time to make a list of actual things real people can do on the current Chromebook lineup. The actual device, that is, not the theoretical Life in the Cloud.

Out of curiosity, which one would you get? The $200 intel one or the $250 ARM one?

After reading the "Should All Web Traffic Be Encrypted?" article, I got steamed that some sites sill charge for SSL.

I'm evaluating task managers:

* RTM - SSL works with free account (use https:// url)
* Nozbe - Requires $89.95/year to get a plan with SSL
* Toodledo (which for a long time was my favorite) - $14.95/year for plan with SSL
* Wunderlist - SSL works with free account (use https:// url)
* Orchestera - SSL is default !!!!!!!!

Even though I really like Nozbe, the steep cost for SSL (my primary need for upgraded account), really sours my opinion. Toodledo is reasonable, but I've become concerned with providers who feel security is an upcharge.

There are many other services that I haven't mentioned.
Yes, you can naively argue that every website should encrypt all their traffic all the time, but to me that's a "boil the sea" solution. I'd rather see a better, more secure identity...

It looks much like a Scott Adams early text-adventure.  Which is just what I'd expect a dumbass pcgamer to do in order to make him feel like the repetitive shooting and dodging gameplay of modern games is a big evolution over pre-Infocom interactive fiction.  It's not even a big evolution over asteroids, mind... at least they now have cutscenes and some quirky non-branching dialogues in between...

I love reading old manuals. This one from Garry Kitchen's GameMaker for Apple II.
