The WaveFX webcast live team have just returned from a week in Cardiff filming and streaming the build up to the Anthony Joshua v Carlos Takam fight.

Anthony Joshua made the fourth defence of his world heavyweight titles against Carlos Takam at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, winning the fight in the 10th round.

Working with Deece Creative the pre-fight workout sponsored by William Hill was filmed and webcast live to 1000’s on Facebook from St David’s Hall in Cardiff. The following day WaveFX streamed the press conference from Cardiff’s national museum which also saw huge numbers tune in.

Adrian from WaveFX: “Facebook Live really is the best platform to see big audience figures with the bonus that they can react and comment in real-time so they really feel part of the webcast.

We used our LiveStream HD550 portable encoder and Teradek wireless camera unit to live mix multiple cameras, videos and presenters, giving the online viewer the highest production values without the high cost associated with live TV”

WaveFX also took time to record the events in 360 video via they’re new 8K VR camera, this great new technology puts the viewer in the director chair putting the online viewer in the very best seat in the house, creating an engaging and interactive experience with or without a VR headset.

Film & Stream any event live in 360° to YouTube & Facebook with WaveFX

Award winning video production company WaveFX have taken a giant leap into the immersive world of VR with the purchase of the insta360 Pro 8K VR camera, one of the first in the UK.

360° VR live streaming offers the online viewer the very best seat in the house, creating an engaging and interactive experience with or without a VR headset.

This great new technology puts the viewer in the director chair, and it really does work. Imagine being at a conference or meeting and being able to choose where you look, for example:
– The presenter at the lectern
– The presentation graphics on the screen
– Someone in the audience asking question
– One of the panel replying

Viewing a 360 degree event requires no extra software or hardware; you simply open your favourite browser and watch the webcast as normal. You also have the option to fully submerse yourself in the event by wearing a VR headset.

Jamie of WaveFX commented “We really took our time evaluating many cameras before settling on the insta360 Pro. Its 6 independent HD lenses can capture 360-degree video in up to 8K resolution in both RAW and HDR. When in 4K mode, the camera can also record up to 100fps.

The process of stitching the 6 cameras together is done beautifully in real-time within the camera, so no extra software or hardware to worry about.
This technology really is amazing and we love a challenge, please do get in touch to talk through your latest idea, event or project”.

The insta360 pro is available to hire from WaveFX’s central Cambridge studio complementing their range of traditional 4K cameras and webcasting equipment.

If you’d like to discuss your latest 360° event or webcast or just talk through an idea, please do get in touch with WaveFX 01223 505600 or email

Photorealistic 3D Visualisation

Inca Digital Printers are an industry leader in the design, development and manufacture of inkjet printers for the wide-format print industry.

To help explain some of their new technologies WaveFX a Cambridge based animation studio created a series of 2D ‘explainer’ videos as well as this photorealistic 3D animation to showcase Inca’s latest product development the “Onset M”.

These videos were used on exhibition stands at the international print show Fespa as well as social media channels including YouTube and Vimeo.

Photorealistic animations transform complicated ideas into clear visual concepts, our cameras can explore, dissect and flyover places conventional cameras simply can’t go. From a simple sketch on a scrap of paper to AutoCAD and Solid Works we create visualisation that will clearly demonstrate your ideas and concepts

Ciara McGahey, Marketing Executive at Inca Digital Printers commented on the final animations “It’s beautiful! gasp, sheds a tear the final result is amazing!”

Chris lead animator at WaveFX’s animation studio mentioned “It’s great to get such amazing feedback from our clients! This project has been a really interesting one to work on and, even though the production deadline was tight, I’m really pleased with the end result. An interesting aspect of this project is the return on investment offered by 3D; not only did Inca get the showcase video for the Onset M, the same assets were also used to create multiple photorealistic product shots for the brochure.”

What makes a great event? – WaveFX film the Meet Cambridge team

Meet Cambridge are the Cambridge venue experts offering a suite of bureau services and a single point of contact for an incredible portfolio of colleges, hotels and conference centre in and around the city.

WaveFX were commissioned to capture some thoughts and comments from Cambridge event professionals on what makes a great event.

Judith Sloane of Meet Cambridge commented: “We worked with Jamie on a project to produce a series of short videos to promote our service and our venues and he was fantastic. We had a rather challenging ask in terms of our limited budget but we shouldn’t have worried, Jamie met with us to discuss our initial brief and rightly challenged some of our ideas, helping us to prioritise exactly what we needed.

The filming took place at one of our events. Jamie and Peter worked through our final brief with minimal supervision and a clam, unhurried approach which really was very welcome. They put our interviewees at ease and asked all of the right questions.

Editing was done quickly and we agreed further edits via email so the whole project was very easy to manage. We are so pleased with the resulting footage, it surpassed our expectations and even better , it was delivered bang on budget!”

Also on the day Natalia Cohen, part of an all-female team to row across the Pacific Ocean and set two new world records, addressed event organisers at Jesus College’s new state-of-the-art West Court facility.

Here from Natalia on the Meet Cambridge YouTube channel

Peter, Videographer at WaveFX commented: “As a centrally located Cambridge video agency we pride ourselves on reacting quickly to client’s requests, being based in the city centre allows to have a more flexible cost effective approach to filming – plus we dont fight the traffic so if we need any extra kit its only a walk away”

WaveFX film The Cambridge Revamp

The Cambridge has turned around its St Ives branch into a “vibrant, contemporary “store that is ready to meet the financial needs of existing and new customers.

Throughout February this year Cambridge based video company WaveFX captured the refurbishment from the striping out of the old to the installation of the new look. Using a variety of time-lapse techniques, go-pro cameras and a hard hat the WaveFX camera team captured the transformation, dust and all.

Watch the video here

Part of The Cambridge’s three-year investment programme, the refurbishment will provide visitors with access to the very best service, advice and guidance.

Andy Jukes from The Cambridge said: “The branch has been serving the residents of St Ives and the surrounding area for 26 years and over that time has become an integral part of the local community. I’m absolutely delighted that this location is to be the first to see such a significant investment and the team are already looking forward to inviting customers new and existing to the new store.”

Heading up the project is Customer Experience Manager Michael Stead, who added: “The new format for the store has been designed around bringing advice and guidance to the forefront of what is offered to customers. Financial Services is becoming increasingly complex and the experience visitors will receive will enable them to get information on a wide range of topics from mortgages and savings products, to how to use mobile devices to access their accounts.”
