Microsoft launched Event Grid: the new tool for developers, providing the neat and reliable backend for distributed application development. Event Grid complements Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps and takes their ideas a bit further. As Event Grid makes events (like uploading a file, updating a database, etc.) first-class Azure objects, it allows to ingest and react to any event, whether it's happening inside Azure, in an existing application or on a third-party service. But Event Grid is more than just a publish-and-subscribe system. It helps to automate some routine operations, for example, an event from a blob storage container triggering an Azure function that runs a machine learning-powered image-recognition service every time a picture is uploaded.
And as developers with expertise in Azure technologies and tools, we see Event Grid as a great step to the flexible architecture, which doesn’t need an expensive permanent virtual infrastructure.

Using mobile apps without the necessity of installing the full version is a great improvement, brought to the users by Google Instant Apps. However, developers and enterprises may find some pitfalls in the function, so let’s take a deeper look. What is the aftermath of Google Instant Apps for developers and enterprises?

✔ Users, deploying just Instant app, will obviously spend less time using the application. So you have less time to impress and engage them.

✔ Users, deploying just Instant app, will be not interested in updates, so the developer’s revenues may decrease.

✔ The proportion of apps, downloaded via web searches, will increase.

All in all the competition in the market will get just more intense, and the first step to fit the users' expectations is to update the existing app and add Android Instant Apps' functionality. See, how can we help: http://bit.ly/mobile_app_development_

How to avoid public cloud vendor lock-in?

Research shows, that 8 out of 10 enterprises decline running their sensitive data in the public #cloud. And the reason is not #security concerns, as you may think, but vendor lock-in. So how can you avoid the problem and start benefitting from the cloud? The answer is hybrid cloud: an ecosystem of multiple environments for various workloads, including on-premises and cloud. Hybrid cloud brings with it the ability to move workloads between different environments (including private and public cloud), burst to the cloud when needed, and mitigate public cloud risks while still benefitting from its advantages.

Mary Meeker published annual Internet Trends Report, highlighting key changes in the technology industry in 2017. We’ve asked WaveAccess’s experts to choose three most significant ones, and here we go:

✔ There’s actually no “shift to mobile”, as desktop usage is not really declining. At the same time, mobile usage has skyrocketed to over three hours per day per person in the US.

✔Both smartphone sales and Internet penetration growth are slowing worldwide.

✔As cloud usage increases, email spam with malicious attachments explodes, which means users are going to become less and less credent.

What does that mean for the businesses? The concurrency is obviously getting higher, so only the best projects and apps will manage to grab users attention. See, how we can make yours project one of those: http://bit.ly/our_services_

Machine learning technologies are at the peak of the Gartner Hype Cycle, boosting industries from healthcare to finances and retail. And that’s not just a bold promise: successful projects, such as the Jisp smart shopping application we’ve made, prove benefits and capabilities of machine learning for businesses and customers. Creating discretionary funds operated by a neural network, improving healthcare by analyzing terabytes and terabytes of data, analyzing customers experience on a deeper level — all of that is possible and already working. Got a brilliant idea? See, how machine learning technologies and WaveAccess’s services can make it real, here: http://bit.ly/machine_llearning

Ericsson ConsumerLab just released new white paper, highlighting how virtual reality and augmented reality technologies will change everyday life in nearest future. According to the study, in next 7 years we’ll see the rise of merged reality, where real and virtual objects can interact. The paper points to six key domains: media, education, work, social interaction, tourism, and retail. Media is obviously the first to transform, and some of those changes are here already:

🎥Consumers expect virtual screens to start replacing televisions and theaters in less than a year.

🖥37% of respondents shifted some video viewing to VR video experiences.

💻22% of respondents shifted some social networking to VR social experiences.

Read the full report here: http://bit.ly/Merged_reality_report

And the trend is not just about consumers' expectations. Back in the 2016 Microsoft released two developments, taking the first steps toward a merged reality. The first is Project Alloy, a wireless headset that allows you to bring real objects into the virtual world using 3D cameras. The second is Windows Holographic Shell, allowing virtual computer screens, objects, and people into the real world. The world is changing — be the first to fulfill new user expectations with WaveAccess services:

In 2016 there were more than 2, 000, 000 applications in the App Store and nobody knows how many there are now. At the same time, a common user downloads about 4-6 new applications per year at best. How can you make your application one of those? Check out our list of iPhone app development trends, which will shape the course of 2017:

📱Internet of things
That’s not only iOS development trend for sure, it’s the whole new industry coming. Applications supporting IoT technologies, such as Jisp smart shopping application we’ve created, are already changing both customers’ and enterprises’ experience. And it seems quite clear, that in 2017 the IoT is going to be more widespread.
📱Apps supporting Augmented Reality and GPS
Augmented Reality has become broadly popular with Pokemon-Go's success in 2016. As well as in the domain of retail and automation. It can be expected that users will be deploying a combination of GPS and AR in 2017 as well.
📱IMessage Apps
The latest iOS 10 update has set the ideal base to develop and deploy high-end custom app extensions, and as a developer you should take advantage of that opportunity. Though it seems to be a short-living trend, as it’s practically impossible to keep one app at the top, you may be the first to win this race.

Facebook and Nvidia present open sourced Caffe 2 framework, giving a boost to machine learning technologies. Caffe 2 is written in C++ and supports OpenMP parallel interfaces for CPUs as well as CUDA parallel interfaces for offloading model training to Nvidia GPUs. The main improvement Caffe 2 brings is not just a multi-node, but also increased processing speed. Running on 8 GPU’s, Caffe 2 processes 1785 images per second, which provides much faster neural network training. This may have a synergistic effect on the industry — follow us to keep up and don’t miss key technology trends.
