We are called to join in Jesus’ prayer that his disciples “may all be one.” #ChristianUnity
If there are fractures in that one body, if there are divisions among people who claim Christ as Lord – and there are and historically have been – it is not by Jesus’ will.

In today’s Gospel we read about St. John the Baptist’s declaration that Jesus is the “Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world”. God sent His only Son in order to restore us, He is “the light of the world”. As we continue to celebrate the Christmas season how can you share Christ’s light and love? #PerfectGift

The #TrinityDome at Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception will remind us that we are called to follow the saints and live lives of holiness.
All of us through a life of prayer, participation in the sacraments and practice of charity move toward eternal life in the embrace of the one God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The story of the journey of the Magi ends by saying that the kings “departed for their country by another way.” Their encounter with Jesus changed their lives, and they saw Herod for what he really was. Encountering Jesus today is still a life-changing experience! Our faith is passed on by people who have encountered Jesus and can’t help but share the story of their life changing experience of God’s love and mercy. #PerfectGift

As Christmas draws to an end, carry the awareness of God’s merciful love for you every day. What experience from your Christmas celebration can you carry with you into the New Year?
Often when a great celebration comes to an end — a wedding, a birthday party, a reunion of friends — we experience a letdown. We are reluctant to get back to the ordinary routine. The ancient Christmas carol “Of the Father’s Love Begotten” captures this innate desire with its haunting refrain, “Evermore and evermore.” While …

There are times in our lives when we experience or learn something that we cannot help but share with others. Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, experiences this when he first meets Jesus in today’s Gospel. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton also heard the call to follow Christ and share the good news of his saving love. Both Andrew and Elizabeth met in Jesus someone who moved and inspired them, compelling them to share the revelation of Christ with others. #PerfectGift
