"What Art Reveals" -- a poem draft that just came to me. I will let it settle first and let it stand a bit on its two legs before I revise. I'll come back to it again to rework it. But for now, here's the draft.
A poor attempt at trying to write like Rumi; but I feel like the poem is there. I will just have to let it rest a bit and come back to it when I have some distance to be able to turn it into a proper poem.
As I put the finishing touches to my first collection of poems, I accidentally started writing my next set. This new collection will be all about love (because I am a sap). I hope to fill it with new and unpublished work but I do have some poems that need company (and a home) like this one. How thrilling to know I am surging forward.
"Swallowing the Witch's Broom" -- a poem that I wrote back in 1999. This is a remnant of my earlier work when I was still an undergrad taking up Literature and Creative Writing. I found it again after going through old files and tried to revise it and refine it. It still needs a lot of work but I think it's nice to have some sort of "memorabilia" piece of my voice when I was still a beginner.
