Here is another DNG file from 2004 that I processed today in Capture One Pro 8. Impressed and amazed at the results. This is sea oats from Nags Head, North Carolina.

Only General Discussion  -

Has anyone else been getting unsolicited calls from a company saying you have not yet claimed your Google+ company page, and saying that they can help insure your page gets top placement? It is a robo-dialer that waits for you to say hello, then a recorded voice comes on with the above statement. You are asked to press 1 to claim your page and talk about options for being placed higher in search results, or press 2 or 9 (different button in different calls) to be placed on their do-not-call list.

Once I pressed 1 to hear their pitch and to find out if it was Google or it if was a marketing company. It was definitely not Google. They said they were not Google. I have been registered on the Do No Call list for many years now. It seems these marketing companies are ignoring it.

Who else has gotten these annoying calls? I have started a log of all the calls. So far over a dozen calls in as many days. Multiple calls in a single day in some cases. The caller ID numbers are from all over the USA - Texas, Colorado, California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania.

I've made a log of them and provided it to the FCC.

These are from a Nikon D100 raw file that was long ago converted to Adobe DNG format. ISO 200, f/8, 300mm, various shutter speeds. I am slowly importing my archives into Capture One Pro and re-processing from scratch.

General Photos & Aperture Discussion  -

I migrated my entire master Aperture library into Lightroom CC. I have been reprocessing the images in LRCC and the results are very good. I have also continued to test Capture One Pro 8. I must say it does produce better results for me, though old images that were long ago converted from NEF to DNG do take more work to get them where I want them than I'd like. Once there, though, the results speak for themselves. Cloning / healing in LR does have its strengths, but the clone / heal brush in Capture One does an excellent job once your learn how to properly use it. It is conceivable that I will migrate all my images into Capture One Pro. It is so much more like Aperture, and I am getting to like their "Process" output method. It allows you to create multiple output sizes, locations, watermarks, etc, and yo output your selected images using multiple "processes" at once (similar to the batch processing in Photoshop). The image below is from a Nikon D800 and the NEF file was processed entirely in Capture One Pro 8.3.2.

Help me  -

I'm helping a developer port a CMS over to UIKIT. The CMS layout includes a block / footer across the bottom that consists of multiple columns as you've seen with many sites. We are seeing in the source of the rendered page a div with a hardcoded style="min-height:179px;". We cannot explain where this style is coming from. The attached screen shots are from Safari, Chrome and FireFox. They each show an "inspect element" where you can see the page source and the div with min-height style. Is the data-uk-grid-match directive producing this? The code for the site is not producing this so we just want to make sure we know where it's coming from.

Excellent florist. I have been using them for more than 10 years. Birthdays, Valentines Day, Anniversaries. Whether I need roses or arrangements, they always come through with fresh flora. Customer service is top notch as well. I once had an arrangement that didn't last but a day or two. They replaced it at no cost and the replacement lasted over two weeks.
