The New Silk Road kicks off with a highway from the coast of China to Western Europe. 
They call it the New Silk Highway, it's an 8,445 kilometer road that will stretch from the coast of China to St. Petersburg, Russia that will cut the transit time down to just ten days. I was able to catch a glimpse of its final stages of construction.
