Our Technicians are NATE Certified and It Matters At W A Air Conditioning, we employ NATE-certified technicians to provide the best possible service to our clients in the Huntsville, Texas area. NATE (North American Technician Excellence), is a nonprofit organization, and the largest of its kind offering certification to HVAC professionals in the United States. NATE certification implies a certain standard of performance, and will make a significant difference in your HVAC service experience.
NATE's focus is superior work in all areas of HVAC service. NATE-certified technicians must pass rigorous tests to achieve NATE certification. Passing these tests signify in-depth knowledge of, and competence in HVACR systems and servicing.
Faster Diagnosis
Because NATE-certified technicians have already demonstrated their in-depth knowledge of modern HVAC equipment, they can often spot the problem with a malfunctioning HVAC system more quickly. This can significantly reduce the number of hours needed to complete your repair and restore comfort inside your home. Fewer hours on the job can also translate to lower costs for most repair procedures.
Improved Maintenance and Service Recommendations
The wealth of experience and knowledge required to achieve NATE certification can allow these technical experts to provide accurate guidance and recommendations regarding your current HVAC system. Huntsville routinely experiences high heat and humidity levels from May through September, and then temperatures in the 40s or lower November to February. Trying to find comfortable indoor temperatures throughout the year can take a toll on your HVAC system. Proper maintenance is a must to prevent unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs.
Proven Results
NATE-certified technicians not only undergo a core examination but must also pass a specialty exam that tests knowledge of a particular field. This two-tiered approach ensures that each individual certified by the organization has both a general knowledge of HVAC systems and an in-depth understanding of specific topics including:

Air conditioning
Air distribution
Gas heating
Heat pumps
Commercial refrigeration

At W A Air Conditioning, we take pride in the expertise and professionalism of our NATE-certified technicians. Contact us to learn more about the advantages of our full lineup of installation, maintenance and repair services or give us a call at 936-755-4344. Why Would I Need An Air Purifier? Many think of air pollution primarily in terms of a problem confined to the outdoors, but the fact of the matter is that indoor air quality is often much worse than the quality of the air outside. Fortunately, you can take several simple steps that will boost the air quality in your home. One of the most effective tools you can incorporate in your fight against poor indoor air is an air purifier.
Purpose of Air Purifiers
After a rise in respiratory problems and allergic reactions, several government and independent health organizations found that indoor air may contain high levels of contaminants. Some of these pollutants, such as pollen, come from the outside the home. Others are produced by our activities (dust, smoke, exhaust from gas stoves, and pesticides). Volatile organic compounds (VOCs), are also gaseous in nature, and come from typical household products such as paint, chemical cleaners, varnish, and carpets.
Air purifiers remove pollutants including bacteria, viruses, pet dander, and mold. They effectively remove particles as small as 30 to 1.0 microns in size. Air purifiers trap and kill the pathogens as indoor air cycles through its filter; which it does up to eight times per hour.
Other Benefits of Air Purifiers
Air purifiers provide a number of important benefits. Most importantly, they are beneficial to your family's health, especially if anyone in the home suffers from respiratory problems. Other benefits of air purifiers include the following:

Helping to reduce respiratory flare-ups.
Eliminating or reducing noxious odors and lingering smells.
They are easy to maintain.
By improving air flow, air purifiers help to reduce the strain on your HVAC system.

If you live in the area surrounding Trinity, Texas, and worry about the quality of the air in your home, WA Air Conditioning, your local, full-service HVAC company, can provide you with highly efficient air purifiers and other indoor air quality products. Boost Indoor Air Quality With a Room-by-Room Approach Poor indoor air quality can aggravate allergies, asthma and other medical conditions. Even healthy people can suffer from nasal congestion, dry eyes, and other symptoms caused by airborne allergens. Improving indoor air quality throughout your home starts by taking action room by room.
In the Bedroom
Improving the air inside your bedroom is very important. The linens on your bed can trap allergens. You should wash your bedding once a week in hot water to kill dust mites and remove allergens.
Pet dander, a common allergy trigger, can also accumulate in your bedding. Keeping pets outside the bedroom will minimize the presence of dander.
In the Kitchen
Wipe down the counters after cooking, and try not to leave dishes with food or food remnants in the sink or dishwasher. Use a trash can with a lid that securely latches. These measures will help to prevent stale food odors from spreading throughout your home. In addition, they will help to keep pests away since pests such as gnats and cockroaches are attracted to food debris and trash. Using the exhaust fan over the stove will help to remove food odors and the excess moisture associated with cooking.
In the Bathroom
Moist, humid conditions are ideal for Mold growth. Bathrooms are especially prone to mold growth due to the high levels of moisture that linger after taking a bath or shower. Use the exhaust fan to remove moisture lingering in the air.
In the Basement
Basements are another prime location for water leaks, pests and mold growth. Fixing leaks will help to keep problems to a minimum. If there is lingering moisture in the air, use a dehumidifier to dry out the space. Also, make sure the clothes dryer is properly vented to the outside.
Improving indoor air quality throughout your home will help to keep you and your family healthy year-round. Check out WA Air Conditioning's indoor air quality solutions or call 936-755-4344 for more information.

Do You Know How to Replace the Batteries in Your Thermostat? There are many possible causes when your air conditioning system fails to function as it should. The problems is often determined by a process of elimination, and can range from a minor do-it-yourself fix, to a more technical problem for which you will need the help of a professional. One of the minor problems could be as simple as needing to replace the batteries in the thermostat. In order to ensure proper functionality at all times, it is important to know when and how to replace the batteries in your thermostat.

When Replacement Is Needed
Depending on the type of digital thermostat you own, it may use AA alkaline batteries, AA alkaline, or 3-volt lithium batteries. Regardless of what kind of batteries they contain, these advanced devices have a low battery indicator that will alert you when replacement is necessary. In some cases, however, you may experience unusual behavior from your heating or cooling system when the batteries need replacement. But even if you are not given an alert and the system is running fine, you should plan on switching out the batteries once a year.
How to Replace the Batteries in Your Thermostat
Replacing the thermostat batteries really is one of the least intimidating of the do-it-yourself AC tasks. Just follow these steps:

Remove the thermostat housing from its mount plate by sliding it up, or snapping it off the wall mount.
Turn the unit over and locate the battery compartment.
Extract the batteries. Many units have a ribbon to pull on that will pop them right out. If not, use a flat-head screwdriver to pry them out.
Align the batteries correctly as indicated.
Line up the thermostat with the wall mount and slide it back into place.
Test the thermostat to make sure it is in good working order. If it does not seem to be working properly, then a low battery may not have been the issue and a technician should be called.

For more expert advice on how to replace the batteries in your thermostat or any other home comfort questions, please contact the professionals at WA Air Conditioning at, 936-755-4344. We offer a variety of HVAC services to Trinity, Huntsville, Waterwood and surrounding counties.
