How about a DAC can do 24/192 and also record for $119? Have a look at the Steinberg ur12. I was thinking of getting the SCHITT modi 2 for $99 but then I'd have to pay shipping as well which to Canada is $49 for Fedex insured. I can pick up the ur12 locally at Long and McQuade.

Also the SCHITT does not record and I am thinking of starting an audio podcast.

You can optionally power the ur12 from the usb port or use an external 5 volt power source. It will work with windows (drivers included for 24/192), OS/X, IOS and linux.

The case is constructed out of metal and you get a headphone jack with a volume control (the volume also adjusts the line out RCA jacks).
The perfect balance between connectivity and portability: the UR44 is a powerful audio/MIDI interface designed to suit a huge range of recording and production situations.

Fixstars crams 6TB into a 2.5" SSD. by Jeff Kampman — 9:51 AM on May 7, 2015. It's common to see six-terabyte capacities in the world of mechanical hard drives, but solid-state storage usually tops out at far lower figures. Fixstars' latest SSD, the SSD-6000M, is different.

A great live performance by Ryan Adams. Although not a regular fan of Ryan, I did enjoy the live performance. The sound quality was adequate, considering it's a live venue.

A look back to 1978...
Despite the myriads of technological breakthroughs announced month after month with tedious regularity by manufacturers of pickups, amplifiers and loudspeakers, there are only five developments in the 101-year history of audio reproduction (footnote 1) that we would call truly revolutionary.

A multithreaded program with extensive global mutable state is one of the best demonstrations of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle I know of.

As Antoine-Marie Roger de Saint-Exupery said, La perfection est atteinte non quand il ne reste rien à ajouter, mais quand il ne reste rien à enlever.
