Nail salon complete with pedicure ‘thrones’ offers a royal experience.

I really enjoyed this article about a nail salon in Jackson Heights, New York. This nail salon got very creative by deciding to create a royal theme. As you will see in the article, customers get to sit on an 8 foot tall pedicure station that is designed to look like a throne. What I really like about their design is that besides being unique, it’s not over the top. It looks nice but you can tell that the cost to decorate the salon in this manner wasn’t too expensive.

It’s interesting to see how salons find the balance between having a nice salon and being economical in the process. It’s extremely important to give your potential customers a positive first impression. If a customer comes into your salon and it does not look nice or well kept, they will most likely either not give your business or not want to come back. On the other hand if a salon is too over the top in how they decorate, it can turn a customer off because they know the cost of extravagant decorations will get passed onto them.

One other thing I thought was interesting about this salon is that guests can also snack on fresh fruit and watch movies while they wait. I really like this because it prevents potential customers from being bored. In the service industry, when a customer is waiting, seconds can feel like minutes. Having inexpensive food and entertainment available can help a customer forget they are waiting and help them enjoy their experience even more.

I have been going to this salon for the last 5 months and I thought the service was good and I liked how they would do my nails, but recently the past few services were awful. The first bad experience involved the nail tech to rant on me because I arrived to the salon three hours before closing and a she kept complaing and it made my mom feel uncomfortable and that proceed for her not wanting to get them done. The second bad experience was when my mom and I went to try and get them done and a man that works there didn't welcome us in a friendly way, and he said he was to busy to help, so then he said leave your name and phone number so we can contact you tomorrow for an appointment, and he never did contact us back. A week later my mom and I tried again and we did get seated but it was very busy and this time the man I mentioned earlier was my nail tech, and at this time their credit card machine was not working, so the man told to get up and help him fix it and i did try to fix it even tho it wasn't my responsibility. I couldn't fix so the manger came and she ended up fixing the machine. So as i was getting my nails done he said you did something wrong with the machine and didn't fix it and at this point i was very upset. I wasn't the only one upset, so was my mom becuase they cut her and she proceeded to bleed and she did not see any cleanliness in the salon. Also to mention the man who did my nails said my nails would be ruined quickly because how i wanted my nails to be shaped, he was unfortunately correct it has been 4 days after my nails have been done and they have popped off. So this was a horrible experience, I will not go again. And wouldnt recommend this place beacuse they are not organized with their costumers. We weren't treated well.

I paid really good money to get my friends and my nails done. i really enjoyed the lady that i had, but she wasn't really experienced in what i wanted to do. i got the coffin shaped nails. the cuticles were horrible and the my nails weren't attached fully to my actual nail. there were bubbles in my nail. i had a ton of dried glue everywhere around my fingers. So, i called in to get them fixed. the same lady was there and she tried to fix it again. it was better, but still not good at all. So, what was supposed to take 20 minutes, turned into an hour. the manager lady then proceeded to fix my nails. they stripped the powder gel from my nails and they wouldn't re put it on because i was short for time. but they didn't offer to do it later on in the week. the manager lady or whoever she was did a better job.. my Friend, she got full set, powered gel, manicure. they were fabulous!! until 5-6 days later. she only had 4 left! 4 POWDER GEL NAILS LEFT AFTER 5-6 DAYS!!! so , we called the other days because i work and she can't get around. but she called in and they wouldn't fix her nails unless we paid again. so i am Never EVER going back and I'm going to let people know my experience.

They did a good job on my feet, my manicure was okay. Though they kept adding things, I was very confused, my original price basically doubled...the lady doing my feet started putting a silver line without asking, so I just went with the added charge, same with the other foot stuff I couldn't figure out what I was being charged for and what I wasn't. When I tried to get the line to match on my hands the lady doing my hands put some random glitter line, not the nice silver one like on my feet....I might go here again. But I'll be sticking to the simple stuff and refusing all other services. I wish the program had a more complete description of the services provided for each price.

Amazing customer service! I love my new gel manicures! I hate chip or bubbles on my gel, and everything is different when I come here. Over 2 weeks later, nothing peeled off or chipped. I will definitely be returning!

Had a Groupon for $20 half price gel pedicure. The staff insisted that it was for standard polish even after showing and reading the Groupon to them. There were 3 others with the Groupon who came in as well. Eventually they honored the coupon . Pedicure was average

Wasn't very happy with the gel fill I got. Especially wasn't happy with the price. I paid 50$ for a fill and for my 6 yr old to get her nails painted, no design. My nails have since cracked,chipped and the color is cracking. The service was nice but everything else sucked. They rushed as well. Will not be going back. I recommend apple nails in Apple valley. Cheaper, quality work and very friendly service.

Make sure you know what you want exactly and how much the service costs before you start as as they tend to add on extra pricing services without asking! Not to mention their pricing is confusing. They did a good job, but I felt I was taken advantage of and will not go back again! There are too many other options for good service and better prices!

Hello Kim, This is Kim, manager from Von’s Nails. I’m also the one who took care of you yesterday. I’m sorry about the confusing you had, and thank you for your feedback. As I know, when you purchased the Groupon, the price and the services were printed clearly on the Groupon. I understand that you thought you had a good deal through Groupon, but your Groupon voucher was expired since May. That’s why you had to pay the full original services price listed in the Groupon, in order to use the remaining credit of the voucher, and you did agree with it before I performed the services for you. In my opinion, I would suggest to the clients who bought the Groupon vouchers need to consider the rule before purchase and using them before expired date, then you will get the best deal of all.

So my baby shower was the weekend of the 15th, I called ahead of time to get in at 5:15pm they said they could do that I even told them I didn't have a lot of time and they said they could get me in. I got there and had to wait until 5:35pm to be helped...When I sat down she was nice and everything but then she rushed the whole job I asked her to fix something and she got agitated. She couldn't even do designs property. I called today 11.21 because my gel nail polish is rubbing off and discoloring, I GET MY NAILS DONE EVERY THREE WEEKS it has never rubbed off this quick so I called to ask for them to simply fix the top coat. She fought with me and told me it was her that did my nails that she is the manager and she doesn't screw anything up. She asked me if I had a receipt and I have a bank statement. She fought with me more so I ended the conversation and decided to write a review. I'm in customer service and I know how important it is to admit that the customer is always right. When I get bad service it ruins my day I advise the owner to look in to this, I know others have had a good experience here, I'm sad I did not get that.
