Researchers found a correlation between addictive use of technology (Video Game Addiction) and comorbid psychiatric disorders including ADHD, anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Women in the test group where more likely to engage in addictive use of social media.

Nick Cameron, a student at St. Luke Catholic School, said the problem of video game addiction was behind his idea to look at how functions such as heart rate and blood pressure are affected during play.

He monitored a number of students over 20 minutes of high-intensity, non-violent game play and found a marked increase of both functions in most cases.

“I wanted to focus on something that's seen as an issue,” he said, noting the proliferation of video games has been liked problems such as childhood obesity.

And if his project has an overall message, Cameron said it's to play in moderation.

Not everyone can afford a sit-stand desk or wants to buy one; even so this shouldn’t stop you from moving your body, having the body sit still for extended periods outside of sleeping is bad for your health and can lead to numerous issues if such behavior is continued on a regular basis.

If you are doing a long raid or multiplayer gaming sessions, get up, move your limps around for a couple of minutes, even better go for a 5 minute walk, in your house/unit if you have to, at least every hour.
