There is nothing more fun than a Slip ‘n Slide; especially when you’re six years old! But don’t forget to pick up this plastic lawn-killer once play time is over. The flattened wet grass underneath needs time to dry out in the sun. Same goes for plastic baby pools. #VirginiaGreen

Over seeding a tall fescue #lawn in the fall is necessary to replenish any turf lost over the summer months. Fescue will struggle with heat stress and is susceptible to lawn disease because of the hot temperatures and high humidity found in #Richmond and throughout Virginia. #VirginiaGreen

FAQ: "When is the best time to water my lawn?"
#VirginiaGreen Answer: Water your lawn and landscape in the morning. We recommend 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. as the best time. This allows the water to penetrate into the soil and the leaves to dry before it gets too hot.

3 Tips to Avoid Brown Patch Disease:

1. Mow your lawn later in the day after the grass is dry. This helps prevent the spread of the disease by the mower.
2. Water your lawn in the early morning before 7:30 a.m. and use deep watering cycles, several times per week.
3. Raise the cutting height on your mower to the tallest setting possible. This helps minimize the unsightliness of the disease and the damage to the grass.

Can you believe it is already July? Every summer, fescue grass lawns struggle with the complex Virginia weather conditions of high humidity, shade, high temperatures, and wet and/or dry conditions. Fescue grass does not have the ability to regenerate & must be reseeded to establish a new lawn. Now is the time to get on the schedule for our Aeration and Overseeding Program! #VirginiaGreen
