New blog post, fresh off the press! 'Rebelling Against the Crocodile' is my contribution to the 'Double Your Followers' blog tour hosted by April Bowles-Olin, celebrating her new CreativeLive class that starts this week!
My biggest marketing struggle is with myself. I put things off, I procrastinate, I over-think things. I let the evil little bad-talker inside me undermine all the good ideas I might have and any positive things I might say ab...

This week: my first blog hop! Check it out!
So I've taken up sewing as a hobby. I am now addicted to folding and stitching small pieces of fabric, by hand, around even smaller pieces of paper and then sewing them together to make a greater whole. This is the wonder of ...

Do you like fans? Here are some beautiful ones from the C18th and C19th centuries.
Hi all! My friend Megan came to visit me in Bath this week, so we went to the Fashion Museum for a study day. It was awesome. There was so much squealing when the boxes were opened! So much delight. We saw two men's late C18t...

This is a good read, and an excellent example of why I actively discourage people from putting pins in their mouths.

Excellent article about CFS/ME. I have this illness, as so several of my friends.
Sufferers aren't just "being tired all the time"—their brains can't connect properly to the spinal nerve tracts and so fail to control vital bodily functions. It's time we started taking it seriously.

And a good time was had by all!
I like how this one came out looking like a Degas painting! Heya, Last weekend I attended the Prior Attire Victorian Ball here in Bath. It was lovely! Held at the Assembly Rooms, a small but enthusiastic group of us swirled...

How to make and use watermarks in Picmonkey.
Some friends wanted me to teach them how I make and use watermarks for my photos, so here it is! I hope it's useful :) To make your watermark: Go to the Picmonkey website. Open 'collage'. You'll have to choose a pho...

Here's a short (but very important) video updating you on what has been happening with the EUVAT Action Campaign over the past few weeks – and how we urgently need your help for the next push. We also wanted to let you know about a breakthrough that has happened: thanks to the huge support that ...

Story
Introduction
I'm a self employed dressmaker, costumier and doll artist from New Zealand but living in Bath, UK. I love fabric and I'll make just about anything. I can never have too many pincushions because it's easier to have one in every sunny spot in the house so that I can follow the sun around all day and not have to transport all my equipment too :) I enjoy reading 'Threads' and 'Mollie Makes' magazines, and I do living history/historical re-enactment. I love art history and museum visits, am currently studying toward an Open Degree in art history and languages, and I go to Venice every year for carnival. I love flowers and pretty china tea sets :)
