Indian #Sesameseeds New #Wintercrop 2016 #Report

Dear Business Associate

Indian Sesame Seeds New Winter Crop 2016 has started to arrive in market. Average daily arrivals in Unjha market is about 250MT and prices are around USD 1200/MT for raw white sesame seeds

The Indian Sesame Seeds production estimate for the New Winter Crop 2016-2017 is 6.75 lakhs MT which is 15% less compared to 2015-2016 estimate of 7.95MT
Following reasons can be attributed for lower production of Indian Sesame Seeds

1)The prices of Indian Sesame Seeds were around USD 1100/MT which fetched lower prices for farmers so Indian farmers were not motivated to sow Sesame seeds this year

2)Also during the harvest season 2016 of Indian Sesame Seeds the climatic conditions turned unfavorable which resulted lower yields

Looking at the above facts the prices of Indian Sesame Seeds of USD 1200/MT is not expected to go down further

The Sesame crop of #Africa is in very good quantity compared to #India and its #prices are around USD 900/MT which is giving tough competition to Indian Sesame seeds in international markets

We conclude that this year future of Sesame will be good

Indian Cumin Seeds market showed up-down trends in last 15 days. Prices moved up to USD 2500/MT, came down to USD 2375/MT and again started upwards movement, today’s price is USD 2640/MT Winter seems to be taking leave and summer is approaching which…

Usually Cumin Seed is sown during beginning of November every year, but due to global warming and climatic changes winter season was late by 1 month in India which affected Cumin sowing and total sowing completed which is expected to be less than 30% than last year. Last year (2014) total cumin crop production in India was around 4.4 lakhs metric ton which kept prices at average levels.

Global consumption of Cumin Seeds was dependent on India from last 2 years because Indians were providing best quality, competitive rates and timely shipments even though market fluctuated. This helped to boost international demand and exports of Indian Cumin Seeds with good faith. This trend is expected to continue for present year also. If international demand of Indian Cumin Seeds remains at very good levels as previous 2 years then prices are not expected to go down further than current rates.

Please feel free to ask undersigned your questions, requirements.

I look forward to start long term business relationship with your esteemed establishment. We are located at one of the biggest producing center of cumin seeds so we can always supply you best fresh quality cumin seeds at competitive rates
