I found this fantastic vintage/antiques shop years ago. The woman that runs it is a really wonderful person.

She has an excellent collection of vintage and antique glass and exceptionally great prices.

We have a wonderful antiques store in the little town of Atlas. You have to want to get there and the prices are excellent. Plus the older woman that owns it makes fantastic lemon bars.

Transportation  -

I especially like how the buildings and modes of transportation change as you move from one end of the city to the wharves.

Apparently this is the oldest known 35 mm film. There are a couple of versions of this on YouTube.

It's a Replacements kind of day! Missed their Twin Cities concert last night!

Last day of the Hidden River Art Festival.

Beautiful day.

A little something we bought today in Eau Claire: a 1964 Lounger.

We contacted the manufacturer via Facebook and they sent us the catalog pages.

We found the line in the catalog about husbands particularly humorous.

What should have been a 4 hour trip took 10. Feels like a trip on the SS Minnow.

Meet Laverne.

Born in 1925. Born and raised in Milwaukee. Younger sister is Shirley. Orphaned at 13. Played center field for the Milwaukee women's baseball team during WWII. 300 bowler. LPGA golfer. JC Penny's first female computer engineer.

"I'm 84 years old and had a great life. My girlfriends are sitting on the couch crying over regrets, watching Fox News and waiting to die. I lived without regrets. I tried everything I wanted to do."

Her husband Leo in a sidebar conversation smiled and said: "I grew up in a family owned bar and bowling alley in Thorpe. It took me 13 years to finally beat her."

Introduction
About The Vintage Painter
Mother | Painter | Bohemian
Christine Mount-Kapp was born in Minneapolis MN, and grew up in Apple Valley, MN. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1990 with a degree in graphic design. Eventually she left Minneapolis and settled in the scenic St. Croix River Valley where she is raising her handsome twin boys.

While attending University of Wisconsin-Stout, she was one of four students selected to study for one year at a newly founded exchange program at The Fachhochshule Hildeshiem/Holzminden School in Northern Germany.

Although working for several years as a waitress in Stillwater, MN, Christine never strayed from the arts, continuing to pursue the vision she had all her life of being a serious painter capturing vintage and Americana life with oil paints on canvas.

Christine currently teaches an afterschool program for young artists, tutors home schooled children and organized a series of successful summer art programs with over 200 participants from the St. Croix River Valley.

Christine gives private art instruction, works full time from her studio and travels around the country doing juried art shows when her role as chauffeur and hockey mom allows.
