The offer is getting better but still too darn expensive. Also, those in East Malaysia get the same plans but with a big discount.

As promised, Maxis CEO Morten Lundal and Head of Consumer Business Dushyanthan Vaithiyanathan took to the newly-launched Facebook Live to apologize for the recent unequal treatment of its customers. In the video, they promised that Maxis will be launching…

If you were looking to upgrade your internet speeds, now would be a good time. TIME has just announced a 500 mbps plan with symmetrical upload and download speeds, and unlimited data for only RM 299. Good luck though in getting it at your place.

We in Malaysia can only enjoy up to 100Mbps download speeds up until now. If you live in TIME dotCom’s (TIME) coverage area, the internet service provider (ISP) since September 2012 has been offering a 100Mbps plan to a lucky few. Business users had the…

The ~RM 15 price tag is just plain ridiculous and feels very wrong, very much like stealing.

Freedom 251 is now the world’s cheapest smartphone at about RM15.30 (yes, you read it right)

When referring to paying extremely low prices for stuff, the idiom ‘dirt-cheap’ might come to mind. However, that might not necessarily work with the Freedom 251 smartphone as the device is probably cheaper than dirt. Launched yesterday in India, the…

Now this one is a great buy. The Android based MIUI is a great example of software done right.

The Redmi line has always been on the low-end end of the spectrum, but Xiaomi Redmi 3 dials it up a notch with a massive 4100mAh battery, while keeping its killer price.

All these Mi 5 teasers by Xiaomi is making me restless and I need to distract myself with another Xiaomi device we cannot buy here yet. Xiaomi’s Redmi line has always been on the lowest-end of the spectrum, with its killer feature being the price. But on…

Let's see how this one fares.

For the longest time, Malaysia only has four major mobile network operators (MNO) — Celcom, Digi, Maxis, and U Mobile — while the other players are mobile virtual network operators (MVNO). However, it looks like next week onwards, we will have a new player in town, called webe. Well, it’s not exactly a new player …

Apple loving leap year babies have one extra reason to celebrate. Get your free apps while they're there.

A leap year only comes every four years (until 2100) and Apple recognizes this by giving away five apps that normally cost a few ringgit, for free. Note that they are only free for a day, so after today, this deal is over. The deal was first made public…

A very interesting proposition but still, its Android Wear (or should have been called Android-ware). No thanks, I'd still like to maintain whatever's left of my private information.

Put aside the flat tires for a bit; Moto 360 Sport has both GPS and PPG, and it's at the same price as the Black Moto 360 (2nd gen) that doesn't have GPS. PPG is optical heart rate sensor, by the way. Now available in Malaysia.

See, what did I tell you about Lenovo Malaysia pulling off a “one more thing”? This morning during the launch of the second-generation Moto 360 smartwatch (that’s already on sale for weeks, mind you), the company also dropped us a surprise — the Moto 360…

Have you tried downloading YouTube videos for offline use?

It appears that you can save YouTube videos offline in Malaysia, again. Hopefully this time it'll last.

Well, it only took YouTube 11 years to bring this feature to Malaysia. A few months ago in April 2015, I noticed that the YouTube app in Malaysia had the “save offline” feature again, for the second time actually; the first time was a few months prior to…

Here's a good looking smartwatch from Huawei that doesn't run Android Wear and comes with a RM 259 price tag. It's a winner in my books (on paper at least).

Honor Band Z1, at RM259, is a great deal especially if it's true that it could get third party app notifications (at least on Android).

If you have been looking for a “smart” wearable and would not want to invest in Android Wear or Apple Watch platform due to their high price tags, Huawei’s got a little something for you. It will be releasing the Honor Band Z1 to Malaysia’s Vmall.my…
