A long time coming; TM is now slowly making available, its new residential 30 Mbps plan, with a 50 Mbps add-on available too. Previously, these speeds are only available for business plans.

Today, a member of a closed Facebook Group named ‘Malaysian Video Streamers’ posted two images of new promotional UniFi plans. For the first time ever, it seems that residential users can now subscribe to UniFi 30 Mbps or upgrade to 50 Mbps, whereas it…

The new Pebble Time smartwatch has already overtaken its predecessor on Kickstarter and it's only the second day. This is definitely going to go on to become the biggest crowdfunded item in just a few more days.

Pebble released the new Time smartwatch with an e-paper color display, a new UI, and the same 7-day battery life. The first tier has sold out like hot cakes!

Pebble Technologies took the world by storm when it released its first Pebble smartwatch on Kickstarter back in April 2012. At the end of the funding period in May 19th, it managed to garner more than US$10 million and became one of the most funded…

Here's the collection of short news on the local front as compiled and reported by Reuben.

Tech Pickings is a new series where we summarize a bunch of news you don't wanna miss, plus those you might have missed, into one (sometimes giant) article. We plan to do this every Friday. Here's our first, where we round up some of the local tech happenings of the second half of 2014.

If you’ve been to my home, it will be immediately clear to you that I’m a hoarder. My intentions were good; that rubber band I’m stashing onto a bowl of other rubber bands could be useful for tying things, and I will definitely read that pile of Wired…

My intentions were good; that rubber band I’m stashing onto a bowl of other rubber bands could be useful for tying things, and I will definitely read that pile of Wired magazines. Someday. The flagship Mi Note is coming To Malaysia in Q2 but I'm more interested in Mi Note Pro.

Xiaomi's Mi Note is no longer a mid-range, but a flagship device with killer specs, especially the Mi Note Pro. The company also unveiled an audiophile-grade over-ear/on-ear headphones, and a miniscule Mi Box mini media streamer.

Unlike movies where the sequel are often not as good as the first, in the tech industry, second generation devices are always an improvement, sometimes even more popular than the third generation. Annoyances addressed, bugs fixed, hardware upgraded. This…
Unlike movies where the sequel are often not as good as the first, in the tech industry, second generation devices are always an improvement, sometimes even more popular than the third generation. Annoyances addressed, bugs fixed, hardware upgraded. This is exactly what Xiaomi did to its Note series of smartphones earlier today. The original Redmi …

We've got bands with record deals that have only a fraction of the talent that Djezna's Stalker has. It doesn't make sense though that this band has not been snagged up by anyone.

Thanks for nothing Maxis. Perhaps you'll consider bringing back the telegraph machine?

Maxis is killing off its SurfMore75 plan on January 29th, the plan that gives you 5GB data a month.

Maxis will be discontinuing its SurfMore75 plan on January 29th 2015 (this Thursday), the data plan that gives a data quota of 5GB for RM75 a month. Thanks to reader ‘sakuragi’ for the heads-up in the comments section. On the SurfMore FAQ page, Maxis said…

This I'd like to see.

So.... I might start this as a project. Full Iron Man Suit using cardboard base with fiberglass over the top. Yes, it is a ton of work but man wouldn't it be worth it.

Or just buy a full set for $2,500 lol...
