Nice, I came across your website when doing research for my LHHT thru hike that I'm planning for this May. Your book is already in my sample queue on my Kindle and from what I've read so far of it, it is very likely for me to click the purchase button. Can't wait for my trip, everything I have read and seen just gets me more and more excited!

Thanks! I'm sure you'll have a blast in May! Drop me a note when you're done to let me know how things went. I hope to be snowshoeing on it this weekend and will upload a video when I'm done!

Thanks for the video. I gleaned a bit of new knowledge that I hope to use on my SOBO on the LHHT this spring. Plan to watch your video on your hike next.

I remember watching these while I anxiously awaited Odd Hours. Googlesd Odd Thomas webisodes to see if they were planning to do this again (since the last book comes out next week) and came across these again. I really liked these webisodes and wished they did more of them.

I'm glad to see this railroad got up and running. I remember seeing them at the Schuylkill River Festival in Pottstown last year.

I have the one person version of this and have to say it is awesome (you can see my tent in action on my numerous bike trips on my flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/blueberryarts/sets ) I have been using it since 2009 and it hasn't failed me yet. I can attest to it being good in high winds (from a sudden thunderstorm on the C&O) and heavy rain. Liked your review, very detailed. Keep up the good work man!

Great video man! You did the exact distances and shelters that I plan to do for my spring trip. I'm still debating whether to tent or to shelter when I do the trip. Are the tent sites numbered like the shelters or do you just pitch anywhere there's space? Plan to film my trip too (hopefully my mono-pod will fare better than yours did). Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!

haha yea that damn monopod. The tent sites are not numbered but most have fire rings, ohiopyle has like 25 tent sites easily found past the wood pile. some sites like 653 the tent sites are behind #5 (the one i stayed in) it's completely random how big the site is. Spring will be really nice, plenty of water. take rain gear!

Nice tribute to the Montour. While I am too young to have ever seen it in operation, I have always had an interest in it. I used to go to elementary school not long after the tracks were pulled in Hendersonville and my grandparents good friend Bob Lane used to work for the Montour.

I too was to young to see the real Montour. My grandparents lived in McDonald so I got to see Conrail in its final years. I became interested in the Montour at the same time. Thanks for the kind words!

I like the playful whistles between the steam engine and csx.
