I did not listen to Rick Perry's confirmation hearings. But other than him, almost all of the cabinet nominees said things that went directly against what #P45 and his mini-me have been saying. This was quite a bit unexpected. Often some of them took very direct and curt position that goes against their boss'.

So the question is - who is the bigger fool - the president or the nominees or the American voter? I have my pick but only time will tell.

Interesting concept for a smart steering wheel - could be useful even in non-smart cars but as the cars become more and more autonomous - there might arise a need for the humans to take control and better seamless communication between the car and the human is even more necessary.

I did not see the inaugural speech but it sounded like #P45 was often waiting for applause. Wondering if there was an applause sign overhead

I am still on the fence about VR thanks to its isolationist approach compared to AR or Hololens like mixed reality (MR). Nonetheless a good read
In Daydream VR, you don't spend your time on a spaceship. You spend it in the woods.

VR (Vive, Daydream, Oculus), AR (Glass, Pokemon Go), and MR (Hololens) seem like all the rage nowadays. It's almost like VR is the answer - what was the question again? But this is an interesting article that tries to cover Google's efforts along with the overlap and distinctions compared to others.

Right now, headsets are universally weird: bulky face-huggers that at best look ridiculous and at worst give you back problems

but I kind of want to bring back the heavy skeuomorphism

take advantage of humans’ ability to move through the world rather than force them to adapt to yet another computer interface

We have a huge range of expression through our hands,” he says, “and we’re nowhere near being able to leverage that for immersive experiences yet

That’s what the promise of augmented reality is. Bringing computing into the situations we already find ourselves in naturally

And this last comment sums up my thoughts and why I think MR like Hololens is something I find far more exciting personally.

Maybe you picked up a Raspberry Pi for the holidays, or you’ve been sitting on one of the super versatile, palm-sized computers for a while now. If you’ve been wondering how to get started with yours, or what you could build that’s worthwhile, here are ten great ideas.

Biden awarded presidential Medal of Freedom - CNN

I think Joe Biden comes across as the only genuine guy in DC.
President Barack Obama surprised an emotional Vice President Joe Biden Thursday by presenting him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, during a White House ceremony.

So much history, so much Inka architecture, so much natural beauty - just amazing. Make sure to take a guide with you so that you get more details and context and not just see the ruins. Then spend more time on your own exploring.

Good food, great service. Wiling to work with menu adjustment to suit your needs. My son had Alpaca which was awesome. One of the best quinoa soup I have had. Relatively inexpensive too. Very local recipe with local spices makes things more unique.

If you are in for a street shopping experience waking from shop to shop, bargain hard and willing to walk away if you don't like the bargain, this is the place for lots of local shopping. But be careful that this place is filled with "Maybe Alpaca" and made in China stuff made to appear like traditional Inka things.
