Using smaller plates/bowls can be a great tool if you tend to overeat. However, make sure you maintain a non-restrictive dialogue. For example, it's better to say to yourself "I'm going to start with this and I can always go back for more if my body needs more" vs saying "this is all my body should need or this is all I'm allowed to have"
