Unspeakably sinister shoe company mascot.

Seen in a shop window in Ramsgate.

Very very wrong, and hanging flip flops over it doors not help.

The Amerigo Vespucci - tall ship belonging to the Italian Navy - currently in London, by South Quay (near the dlr stop).

It is just down from where I am working, and today they were letting people look round so I got to wander around the decks. Not only beautiful but literally smelled of polish.

It is very hard to get a good photo as you can't get far enough away, but I love the way it looms over the buildings, with the masts being much higher than the 12 storey South Quay Plaza 2 next to it. It seems more impressive because it is out of place in the city.

Yeah...one major disadvantage to living in a land-locked state is that tall ships never come visit.  She is beautiful, though.

Most over the top wooden hut ever...

A folly at Arundel castle, designed by Inigo Jones. I've seen more impressive follies but not made of wood, and combined with my longstanding beach hut obsession it is making me rethink my dream beach hut. (Previously wanted one of the ones on stilts so I could dress the legs up with chicken feet to be Baba Jaga's hut).

Inside a fountain runs through a gold crown on a pole, making it revolve and play a tinny tune. Proof that rich people with no taste is not new...

Charing Cross hospitals interesting approach to dress code.

(ok, I know they mean bare arms, and a picture with it shows a wrist watch, but first thought is still partly nude doctors and nurses).

That's a colour now ?

My mother bought new shelves. For the record they are a flat grey, and were sold as grey by the shop.

I am insanely happy to have lived out a bad comedy routine.

My mother was doing a crossword puzzle.

Her : a unit of energy?
Me : um, Watt ?
Her : a word for a unit of energy
Me : WATT
Her : a unit of energy
Me : no, watt is the unit
Her : what ?

when we sorted it out we were both very happy you could really do that. First upside to her hearing problems /lack of voice to make herself heard.

Less funny when every attempt to talk about it descended every time into whats? And pardons making us self consciously realise how often we can't gear each other.

Fog.
I've been walking down the sea front, started out with about 12 meters visibility, down to about 6. From the edge of the water you couldn't see past the wet sand left as the tide went out, from the shingle you could hear but not see the sea.
The water was crystal clear.
When I went to walk inland my phone map put me under water, I had to walk for about 5 minutes into the nothingness to stop walking in an inch of water. Worryingly the map also said I had been walking out when I thought I was walking in.
One of the most surreal and disconnected experiences of my life, and kind of wonderful.
You could also see the fog rolling in.
Once I walked up the little shingle hill there was suddenly colour from the grass, and looking back it looked like the fog I had walked through was the sea.
