Grooveshark has been shut down. +Turan Mahmudov, any plans to modify your Grooveshark Manager app to use a different backend? The Grooveshark scope should probably also be removed from the images and store. Sad day.

Good riddance.  It struck me as odd that Ubuntu, made possible by the GPL and copyright law, would support a business so obviously disrespecting copyright.

Windows 10 is interesting. It has virtual desktops and has reverted back from that silly metro interface by default. So it has the flatter feel of Windows 8, but a more conservative/legacy start menu. Since Windows has been on an acid trip the last few years, this version almost feels more like KDE than it does Windows. Therefore, I will henceforth refer to Windows 10 as a proprietary KDE clone.

What should the next version of Ubuntu be called? I hereby cast my ballot for the next version of Ubuntu to be called "Woody Woodpecker."

Waxy: «1.Definition: capable of being bent or flexed or twisted without breaking»

Wagtail: «The wagtail has black upperparts, white wings, and a black U-shaped breast band joining with black ear coverts. There is also a white patch on the sides of the neck.»

I dare you to come up with something better than Waxy Wagtail!

I have a Snappy app in the Ubuntu Store that users of the Ubuntu Core images can install. When it was released in February it had 1 download. No one else installed it until around April 8th when the number of downloads exploded. Does anyone familiar with Ubuntu Core know where these users came from or what happened starting April 8th?

Now that the weekend is upon us and Vivid has gone through its kernel freeze--it's upgrade time! Wish me luck!

Upgrade went well! Only unexpected thing is that something (cough systemd) is starting abiword each time I boot my machine. If it were an IDE instead maybe I wouldn't mind.

The changes to the Ubuntu Music app to support DRM protected music files is nearly complete! It's been requested that we get input from the community first to get an idea of which file format/codec should be the preferred type going forward. Speak now or forever hold your peace!

I have a soundboard app called Hodor in the Ubuntu Store. The number of people who have downloaded it in the past 7 days has gone from 57 to 75. The app has been in the store for almost 9 months and isn't featured or anything, so I don't know how these new users stumble across the app. I think this says good things about how many devices have been sold! Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone for the constructive feedback in the reviews! :)
