I wonder if people ever use those "back to top" links.

If you're around friends and family using older browsers this year, why not take a few minutes out to help them upgrade to an evergreen browser? Evergreen browsers are browsers with an automatic upgrade path (e.g Chrome, Firefox and Opera) and will mean that they can enjoy the best the web has to offer and avoid broken browser experiences in the future.

Nice graph. Summary: Immigrants are awesome.

When most people think immigrants they think of the the wonderful hard working ones doing the thankless low paying jobs that others might not want to do.  But there are many types of immigrants. For example the ones that are forming more businesses than those of us who were US born. Or immigrants who are generating farm more patents (far, far, far more) than US born.

Nice graph because it illustrates information that makes you go hmmm...  now that is interesting!  Source: http://goo.gl/msBaa

PS: So I was feeling pretty pumped about these graphs, as a immigrant. Then I realized my kids are US born! I need to convert them to immigrants. :)

PPS: There is a difference between legal and illegal immigration, topic for another day.

Becoming more conscious means improving your mind's ability to regulate the flow of input and action.

Less conscious people wield less control over their inputs (habitual TV viewing and web surfing, advertising exposure, Facebook addiction, people criticizing them, etc) and their actions (wasting time, mindless and uninspired tasks, following the herd, working for someone else's goals).

More conscious people wield more control over their inputs (intelligent reading, self-directed learning, supportive relationships, an organized environment) and their actions (working on self-chosen goals and projects, regular exercise, creative self-expression).

A common mistake people make is to focus exclusively on upgrading their actions without upgrading their inputs. For proper synergy both must be upgraded together, and inputs are usually easier to upgrade.

What, for example, is one of the best books you could read next? Read that book next. Hint: It's not one of the Twilight books. ;)
