Today VentureBeat published an article about Roadster, a new startup promising to create a better car buying experience for consumers. Auto dealers fought TrueCar.com last year when they took to the national airwaves promising consumers that they would pay less to buy a car using their service. It looks like the success of the TrueCar model is encouraging more digital disruptors to come after the sales model of automotive franchise dealers.Accordi...

In an obvious pandering to the growing China interest in NBA basket ball the Golden State Warriors have a "New" uniform for Chinese New Year. However my wife has noted that the Chinese Characters look like they were written by a preschooler. The character on the right being out of proportion to the character on the left. There are so many other much more "better" looking " FONTS" that would of added class and beauty to the look of the Translated Warrior name. Let alone it's written in the simplified Chinese characters. Obvious that many of those of Chinese ancestry living here in the Bay Area would miss because we were not raised in reading and writing Chinese. I think the marketing department has missed the mark on this attempt. Once again it shows how in the "rush" to get something done, one misses the details... as so noted by Apple co founder Steve Jobs in getting the small details right was an obsession of his for Apple products we love and use today.
The Warriors unveiled their first-ever Chinese New Year uniforms at an industry-first event at the Betty Ong Rec Center in San Francisco today with Warriors forwards Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green.

Big data is moving on. We’re moving past the stage where it’s something only trailblazers and early adopters are on board with, towards a time when if you aren’t analyzing data to help you make better business decisions, you’re in danger of being left behind.A survey this year found that 73% of businesses questioned either already had data analytics strategies in place, or are planning to implement them in the next two years. It is becoming appar...

It should come as no surprise that a college degree is no longer the golden ticket to a good career that it once was. It certainly helps, but the letters on your diploma are no longer a guarantee of a good job. In fact, employers are looking more at valuable soft skills, like teamwork and communication skills, when making hiring decisions. What employers want. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) recently released the results o...

Many small business owners work on a technician mode. Meaning, they don’t do a lot of managing tasks, on a daily basis, to promote their business. That can be harmful to their business. They need to put on the manager hat, and fast.Bloomberg research states that 8 out of 10 will close the business after only 18 months! Why is that? Forbes give you 5 good reasonsI want to elaborate about reason no. 4 – Founder Dysfunction – most founders never own...

Impressed.
Earlier this year Mark Cuban was interviewed by Inc. Magazine President Eric Schurenberg at its annual GrowCo Conference.Maybe you heard about that interview, since it was a national talking point for nearly a week. (Here's the full video.)Maybe you heard Mark say, "I know I'm prejudiced, and I know I'm bigoted in a lot of different ways. If I see a black kid in a hoodie on my side of the street, I'll move to the other side of the street. If I se...

Every day we are faced with choices in our careers that will affect us over the long term. Should I volunteer for that new project? Should I ask for a raise? Should I take a sabbatical? Should I say yes to overtime? But sometimes we miss the biggest choices that will cause us to look back on our careers 20 years from now with pride and contentment — or regret. Here are some of the career choices we often make but will regret deeply in 20 years’ tim...
