86 years ago today VA was founded when the Veterans Bureau was elevated to a federal administration. Since they it has been our honor to offer ever improving care for our nation's Veterans. Our goal now is to make sure that Veterans always receive the quality care they earned when they need it.

Care is so horrible it seems like you'd prefer the veteran to bite a bullet then get reasonable care

Over the past decade VA has seen a dramatic increase in the number of female Veterans needing care, requiring new and different approaches to how we handle health care. Our Women Veterans Call Center helps female Veterans navigate a system that is growing and adapting to their care needs. Call or chat online today.
The Women Veterans Call Center has a new online, one-to-one chat function. Women Veterans can chat online anonymously via text with a trained woman representative, many of whom are Veterans.

“In examining the VA’s performance in health care procedures versus its private sector counterparts, the report found that ‘in a tally of 83 different measures covering a variety of types of care, including safety and effectiveness of treatment, the quality of VA health care exceeded that of non-VA care.’”
A new study examining the VA health care system found that the agency is often better than its private sector counterparts.

For some #Veterans, the biggest battles can occur back home after deployment. Flashbacks can cause Veterans to feel as if they’re reliving a traumatic event — vividly recalling its sights, sounds, smells, and other details. Learn about #flashbacks and what you can do if you’re experiencing them:
