Thanks Laura! I've just seen your comment from January. Really appreciate your feedback, and thanks again for reading my blog! V xx

So informative!  I missed reading your entries and found this one very stimulating.  I hope it's not me but I feel that my creativity has been "dormant" since returning to Southern California.  Working 8am - 5pm, 5 days a week, amongst concrete chaos with the constant buzz of the highway over my head is enough to make me feel suffocated.  I can't understand the appeal of living here...Your posts are a breath of fresh air!

The lively rivers of Snowdonia
What's the most exhilarating outdoor adventure you've been on this year? For  +Shawn Moore  and I, it was a week of hiking in the Snowdonia National Park  (Snowdonia NP) in North Wales. For our base camp, we chose a traditional, slate-clad farmer's cottage ...

Let your heart sing and your mind be inspired by autumnal transformations in nature
Change is in the air as the heartbeat of nature slows down in preparation for dormancy and hibernation. This is my favourite season of all. With childlike awe, I take delight in the brilliantly white blanket of frost that makes an early morning appearance u...

The UK's latest catch-22: shale gas
Shale gas, in addition to other well-known unconventional hydrocarbons such as shale oil or coal-bed methane, has unquestionably become the United Kingdom's latest quandary. I first got introduced to shale gas last summer when my boss asked me to write a li...

Dutch pumps used to funnel floodwater away from the Somerset Levels were switched off on Saturday night after damaging the #Parrett riverbank. This was due to the volume of water being discharged from the King's Sedgemoor Drain through the giant pumps.
