Cycles Estermann Zurich was founded by #LeoEstermann   in about 1960, originally located behind Restaurant Felsenberg in Seebach, Zurich Switzerland. Leo Estermann built his bespoke racing frames for elite riders as well as discerning customers who required a custom built frame, initially building lugged frames and probably progressed to fillet brazed work when the fad for #Funnybikes   began to take hold in the late 1970’s. This Leo Estermann funny bike was built for the Australian sprinter Kenrick Tucker, about 1981. http://veloaficionado.com/leo-estermann-zurich-frame-builder-track-pursuit-funny-bike-1981/

1984 - 1985 gen 1#Campagnolo C-Record braze on front derailleur, with an exposed middle arm pin above the braze on mounting bolt. Horizontally pinned fork / cage, gen 2 derailleurs were improved with a diagonal pin arrangement. Rare Gerber version from Greg Softley's collection. This version was shown in Catalogue n18 bis. Gold plating and other plated parts, perhaps copper and brown anodising? The horizontal arm stop plate was omitted on the gen 2 versions. This derailleur was so intriguing I unearthed the entire story on C Record front derailleurs to see where this one fitted in. Also no 'MADE IN ITALY' stamped into the cage which was included on later versions. MORE http://veloaficionado.com/the-campagnolo-c-record-front-derailleur/

Bespoke Swiss #bicycle  company Ital Cicli Systems of Zurich produced utilitarian bikes in their first years, compared to the gold plated masterpeices they became known for in later years. In the mid 1970's Giovanni Losa's hand made Italian frames for ICS were distributed by a bike shop in Baggio, PEP Magni. PEP Magni bikes were shipped to ICS at Hardturmstrasse in Zurich Switzerland. The Italian shop name PEP Magni left intact on the ICS versions.

Buying a #bicycle   can sometimes become very personal, the #bike   itself taking on a different meaning for each rider. The story of two very different Llewellyn #custombicycles  produced in Darrell McCulloch’s suburban Brisbane bespoke bicycle building workshop.

Arthur Dows nearly wore out this copy of the Ernie Old's book, which could have been titled "The Hardman's Guide to #cycling  " Old rode more than 400km some days on appalling roads. He camped by the roadside "in a bed of leaves". Crossed deserts and rode in all weather. Most of his impressive long distance #bicycle   rides were when he was over seventy years of age, he was still doing 80 miles per day when he was 80. One of Australia's most revered 20th century adventurers Ernie could draw a crowd of up to 75,000 people at the end of some of his rides.

http://bit.ly/x4bianchi We began with a bog standard #bianchi  dark blue paint job, then painstakingly restored every aspect back to better than factory original. The celeste and chrome now shines one again.
