Can I Make Over $1000 a Month Consistently From a Blog?

[Written Exclusively for the Copywriter's Collective Community]

This is a question that gets asked quite frequently. However, making money with a blog and getting traffic from it are not all they seem.

Let me explain...

A lot of newbs to the blogging world think that if they start blogging like crazy they'll get a ton of traffic and eventually make a ton of money.

They'll start using Google Adsense ads, or try their hand at affiliate marketing and start making money.

To be honest with you, the process is a lot harder than that.

First, you have to decide on what niche you are going to focus on and how you are going to monetize your blog. That's obvious. But how will you determine your success?

If you go off of how much money you make from your blog, you won't get very far, because chances are you can make spurts of money that won't last as a long term revenue stream that you can count on.

THE WAY TO MAKE IT CONSISTENT:

So how are you going to be able to determine your success on your blog?

Well, you are going to want to gain long-term trust that'll get people to come back to you again and again. That way, you'll be able to make money consistently and have posts that will draw traffic for years on end.

How?

1. You need to map out a sales funnel. And in that sales funnel you will weed out all of the people that aren't interested in what you have to offer with your content. You only want the folks that are interested in your business. That's a quality list you can market to.

2. Once you get those people into your funnel or landing on your page, you'll want to keep them with awesome content. You need write and produce material that will want them to stay with you. You will then ask the prospect to take the next step. You can see an example of that at several places on this blog post about building an email list linked below.

3. You will then need to assess where in your process you lost your readers and followers. If you don't get prospects to take the next step in your funnel, then you need to figure out why they aren't taking that next step.

Once you clearly understand how to get and retain readers, customers and clients long term, you can then start to depend on the money that comes in.
