I used to think that #Google #Design
does a lot of research and they can never go wrong! But sadly, lollipop update on my #Nexus4
has proven me wrong.
I am currently hating their Dark ugly color selection
Hating unnecessary swipes and taps for doing simple things
Who the hell had designed that Dialer app? Throw him away - I've not even used such colors even in my first application - Bright n Ugly - seems like some windows fan has tried putting those colors on Android. Dude they don't go together though bright windows tiles might have looked better.
Why there's a lot of lag when after I select a contact to call and the call UI comes up? It was much user friendly earlier and the experience was much better. A wide large end(Red) button was much better to end the call than a tiny shady circle flicked from iOS.
Did you just forgot the 44px rule for fingers to tap on any UI item on a mobile phone? Previously checking recents and single tap to call was much better - now we have to find those tiny recent names and tap on that small shitty circle and we get a text called "Callback"?? Is that what you've learnt with material design?
Why does that settings got a dull gloomy color with lots of spaces in it? Do you want to fit in your CEO or CTO's faces in it?? and surprisingly why does that dialer and recents list was so compressed? Seems like different modules have been worked on by different people with different set of thought process - That's not a unified design and don't expect lollipop to be a success without fixing this stuff.
When the phone is in BATTERY SAVER mode, I need to know it not every one around me!!!! Why do you get that flashy orange on top and bottom? I am ashamed to take out my phone and unlock it in front of others, when that thing is activated - That person who designed that is a kind of a poster designer I guess, who just knows flashy colored UI but never cares about UX.
And What the hell I have to do with facebook notification I get on top??? I tap it doesn't take me to FB app, I pull it down, I drag it, I tap it, I throw it... nothing happens - I can swipe left or right to dismiss and then I have to manually open the FB and check my notification - How easy was the previous version?
Why is keypad behaving in a strange way? Did my fingers go broader or the keypad went thinner? Most of the times I am getting the character beside my intended character and that's frustrating - you need to respect people addiction and practice!
Why the hell do you want to make each chrome tab as an app while killing? That way I am constantly losing my opened up pages - I tend to kill all running apps when my battery goes low or if I see any slow performance! That's very disgusting!
