To start off, this place was booked for a wedding night and two nights after. My sister had just been married and after the whole event went to a room she had booked with a "pool" view. Apparently that actually meant a view of the parking lot. A $200/night view of the parking lot. When she complained they only offered her a complimentary bottle of champagne that had already been offered as part of the room and still hadn't made it to her room during dinner and drinks with family from out of town. And during dinner and drinks, we recieved some if the worst customer service I had seen in awhile. Not only were we ignored, we actually had to find our waitress and re-order several times. The people and the staff there treated us as if we were pests for being jovial. I really hope they see this and get their act together, that place isn't so nice that customer service isn't still the most important part of your job.

Hi Malia, It appears we really dropped the bell on such a special occasion. Please accept my sincere apology and your sister is welcome to reach out to me directly so I can make this right. Cheryl Martin, GM

I am not one to post bad reviews but I was very dissatisfied with my stay and don't want anyone else to have the same problems arise. My husband and I showed up to the hotel early for check in not expecting our room to be ready but much to our surprise the staff said there was a room available. We headed up to our room and found that it had yet to be cleaned after the previous guests had stayed in it- dirty sheets, towels, and garbage inside of the room. We kindly asked the house keeping staff if our room had been serviced and they said that the front desk sometimes puts guests in rooms that have not been cleaned. We were then placed in another room on the first floor so our dog could have more accessibility to the grass area outside. Our sliding glass door could not be opened more than a third of the way which made it very difficult to get in and out easily. That night we noticed that we were placed next to a room that was celebrating a 21st birthday. Around 9:30pm we called the front desk to ask what their policy was on noise level- we got told that a staff member would be walking around the halls around 10pm to inform their noise policy to any guests that were being loud. My husband and I were woken up at 11:30pm, midnight, and 1:30am to noise coming from all sides of our room. We never heard any staff come to either of the rooms to inform their "noise policy." Needless to say, we got one of the worst nights sleep and it just so happened to be my birthday that morning. We had very little hot water when showering and the outlets in the bathroom were absolutely terrible- our blow dryer would turn off randomly and then stop working all together. When we were checking out, I let the front desk staff know all of the problems that arose in our room so the next guests would not have the same problems. I felt like I handled the situation in a very calm manor and received a less than satisfactory response from the front desk employee. Also, it would be wise to delete the "Free breakfast" amenity from your website considering the fact that it's not free.

Ouch, that hurt really bad to read! I am very embarrassed and I humbly apologize to you for US. I wont make any excuses to waste any more of your time. Instead, I promise to address your concerns and will fix these service flaws. Again, I am so sorry!

Visiting with sales staff to consider using VRI as a future event venue. Lovely location on the river with homey lobby complete with fireplace and couches. Restaurant situated riverside with unique offerings. Staff committed to inclusiveness and customer satisfaction.

The Woman at the front desk at 10:20 5/1/2016 was very rude. I tried to use my bosses AMEX to book a room. I had a hand written form of written consent with his signature, his business card and a picture of his ID. She told me that that was a nogo. I did tell her I had no problem doing this before she told me that nowhere would let me do this. But the phoenix inn did with no problem. She tried to argue with me like I was lying. She was very condescending I was very polite and did not throw a fit. She had no reason to treat me like that

Carlos at front desk was extremely unhelpful with the issue I was having, or at least seemed to be, his method of communicating left me very unclear. Phillip took over and the issue was resolved promptly.
Response from the owner - 2 weeks ago
Oh my, I am sorry Carlos was not helpful, he usually is, but I am happy that Phillip was able to resolve the concern. Thank you for telling me.

Showed up looking for a nice room for my wife and kids. Got in town early and our room wasn't ready to check in. Very nice and professional man said he would gladly upgrade us to the Casanova Suite. Wow what a great room, and the service was top notch. Only wish I would have gotten the man's name that helped us. (Polite and professional guy with French accent)
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Hi Darin, Thanks so much for the wonderful review. I am thrilled you enjoyed your stay and our surprise and delight with the upgrade to the suite..... made a lasting memory. His name was Juan Carlos! I will be sure to celebrate him with the team.

The Valley River Inn has wonderful service and staff. I was recently there for an event. The room was well decorated and the staff was friendly and fast. The food provided was also very good. I would recommend the Valley River Inn as a good place to hold an event.
