When I lived in Japan from 2002-2006, cherry blossoms in Spring was a treasured experience. Tsurumi Ryokuchi Koen (park) in Osaka was a favourite spot to sit with my bento box, and relax while gazing out at an impressive array of cherry trees around the lake. And then, there was Osaka Jo Koen (Osaka Castle Park) and all of its breathtaking cherry trees lining the moat. Had never seen anything like it.
In South Korea from 2006-2007, I was equally pleased, walking to and from work, along the Han River, staring up in awe at the canopy of soft white and pink flowers, petals blowing gently to the ground, as quickly as the tiny buds opened.
It took 8 years, but having planned to come to Toronto specifically this weekend, the predicted time of peak bloom for cherry blossoms in High Park, I have finally had the chance to enjoy them again. Special thanks goes to my 24-70/2.8 for helping me capture the beauty. ©2015 Valerie Rosen; All rights reserved. #nikonphotography #nikonphotographers #flowersphotography #naturephotography #bokehphotography #depthoffield #canadaphotography #spring #bestoftheday #photooftheday #tuesday #picoftheday #cherryblossoms #Japanese #floralphotography #flowers
