I have to agree, #agile was probably the correct word to use by the prime minister, however, what it means and what people think it means are two different things so let's not call it agile and stick with #adaptive. We must be an #adaptive #government, let's hope this makes more sense to the public sector and community because at the end, that's what we should be, adaptive to change.. :-) :-)

It's been years since #MyWay was introduced in #Canberra, probably long before User Experience (UX) design became the norm (at least in Canberra) but still we can see the major flaws in its design.
One side has the MyWay logo and your acount number, the other side is completely bank. My question is, which way do you have to present the card? Does it matter or not? Do you swipe or insert it? The fact that a new user needs to think about it and most likely be confused for the first time, tell you the story... #actionbus, don't make me think, the experience should be seamless, without a fuss or worry. Think about your customers experience, I guess less writing on the card saves you money but should you sacrifice it for your client's #UX?

Find people who share similar passion, professional, ethical and moral values than you. If you are trying to have or build a positive environment but there is too much negativity and toxic behaviours around you then look for better opportunities somewhere else.
'If you hang out with nasty and sullen people, you will become nasty and sullen. If you work for a Machiavellian company, you will eventually operate in a Machiavellian manner.'

I've been asked several times in the past year or so and have heard people talking about what is innovation in government and IT Gov.
What I have heard a lot at all levels of the public service is people saying - innovation is a buzz word, innovation is too hard, what does it even mean by that? We don't have the resources, budget or time for it!
IMHO, in a nutshell anything that improves a process, policy, application or service in a productive form is innovation. Keeping a chair warm and getting paid for it while you complain about innovation or getting work done, or why you should get paid more or asking for a promotion because you so deserve it........ is not, that is called stealing tax payers money, yes you can call it fraud as well.
Just because we hear a few politicians talking about innovation does not mean that innovation has never existed, it always has and always will if we want to support the Australian community.
Any thoughts dear public and private sector friends? ‪#‎inspired‬ ‪#‎innovationthought‬ ‪#‎ITInnovation‬ ‪#‎GovIT‬ ‪#‎Govinnovation‬ ‪#‎randomthought‬

Ever wondered how some people get jobs in the public service? Pretty resourceful and impressive.
