Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Wine Spectator's Wine Experience. We had a wonderful time! Here is a photo or our first one in held in San Francisco in 1981!

From Wine Spectator: Wine Spectator’s first Grand Award weekend was held in 1981 at New York’s Windows on the World. The event honored 13 restaurants for their exceptional wine programs. Standing, from left: Robert Meyer (Yankee Silversmith Inn, Wallingford, Conn.); Leonce Picot (The Down Under, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.); Wine Spectator’s Gerry Boyd; Roland Gotti (Ernie’s, San Francisco); Robert Petersen (Scandia, Los Angeles); Bern Laxer (Bern’s Steak House, Tampa, Fla.); Alan Lewis (Windows on the World, New York); Wine Spectator editor and publisher Marvin R. Shanken; Pat Cetta (Spark’s Steak House, New York). Seated, clockwise from left: Ted Conklin (The American Hotel, Sag Harbor, N.Y.); Henry Warren (The Breakers, Palm Beach, Fla.); Narsai David (Narsai’s, Kensington, Calif.); columnist Art Buchwald; Irving Malnik (The Forge, Miami); Piero Selvaggio (Valentino, Santa Monica, Calif.); Alex Dierkhising (Silverado Restaurant, Calistoga, Calif.) This place lived up to the yelp hype and hit the spot. We can here about 8:30 and there was no wait although the restaurant was about half full The portions are huge and not overly priced. Bread and butter come to the table while you wait. We also tried an order of pillows which were very unique. Imagine a bread puff with ricotta and a sweet balsamic sauce - so good! I had a build your own pasta: spinach linguini with pink sauce, mushrooms and turkey sausage. The pasta was doused with sauce but I think that's a good thing. Overall, A+ and I would deff come back.

Older crowd. Good food. I don't know if I would come if I didn't have a group on though

The dishes was had felt overpriced especially for quality of food. Came for Eggplant Parmigiana, was very disappointed. Not enough sauce, too cheesy.

I was expecting far more from a Michelin rated restaurant. Service was beyond terrible and our server could have cared less about us. Food was good but not amazing. Atmosphere was very bleh. The small amounts of character this restaurant did have felt very outdated and not well maintained. If you want an expensive restaurant with minimal character, useless staff and overpriced food, I guess I could recommend this place. But for the rest of the world, I'd suggest passing on this place.

Matthew, I am sorry you had a bad experience at our restaurant. There is a good reason we have been around for over 40 years and thankfully our guests love our food, hospitality, atmosphere, etc., and return time and again.

Wonderful dinner. Came here to celebrate dude's birthday since he really likes Italian food. They were kind enough to seat us at a corner booth, it was comfortable and spacious. Our waiter came over to take our drinks order right away and went over the menu items and specials with us. We decided to go with the 5 course prix menu to make things easy, there were many options on the 5 course meal, which was very nice. Service was extremely attentive, came over and refilled out drinks regularly. The food was very tasty and well presented, traditionally prepared, and retained its authenticity. The stuffed calamari was my favorite and a must order. So good. Prices are very reasonable, street parking was a bit difficult as everything had a time limit of 1 hour. Bathrooms are nice and clean.
