Don't wait for the weekend to celebrate, try our #WineWednesday pick today! Our Dry Creek Zinfandel is back and better than ever. It's rich with hints of currents, black pepper, and cinnamon. This wine is best paired with Extra Aged Gouda, our house-made spicy salami, and garlic marinated mushrooms. Enjoy! ‪#VSattui‬ #NapaValley

We've been going to V. Sattui Winery for 33 years. We love their deli. After wine tasting we can have a picnic lunch on the grounds. The experience never gets old. Their exclusive selection of wines are wonderful. You've got to try V. Sattui Winery!

I wish I could rate this less than 1 star. Our server Bianca was not only rude, she was not helpful, and she barely said anything to us during our tasting. She didn't explain the wines to us or anything. When I asked about a military discount she sighed and said "it's complimentary." Ok, sorry I asked? We decided to purchase one of the Cab's , some cheese and salami--and it got even worse when we were checking out. The guy didn't look at us once didn't even thanked us. We're not going back here.

I hate to pile on, but V. Sattui deserves the accolades. I've been here a few times and each time is exactly the same - really great wine, huge and tasty cheese selection, good meats, and a spectacularly nice picnic area. Lots of families around this particular Saturday; this is definitely a place you can take the kids while enjoying some adult grape juice. Having to decide where to take a foreigner for a first visit to Napa when you're on a limited time budget wasn't very difficult when I remembered what a nice time I'd had here before.

Not to sound too superlative, but to be honest, these are some of the best wines I've ever had. The Madeira is probably the best in my opinion. Ok, now onto the review. The winery was recommended to us by one of our Uber drivers, who also runs Napa tours. The vineyard is one of several owned and operated by V. Sattui. They were open on Thanksgiving, so we thought it would be a good way to spend the afternoon. It's a short drive north of Napa on Highway 29, about 90 minutes north of San Francisco. The place was packed when we arrived, but there was parking available, thankfully.Tastings are $15.00 for 6 wines. The sommelier who helped, me, Lynne, was great. She walked me through some of the sweeter wines (which is my taste). I started off with the Off-Dry Riesling, which was very well-balanced and not overly sweet. To see what the difference was between it and the Riesling, I went ahead and tried the Dry Riesling, which was very pleasant. Next up was the Muscat, which was very crisp and delightful. I moved on to the Gamay Rouge (my favorite), which tasted like strawberries. I moved onto the Syrah, against her recommendations, but I wanted to try it anyway. Probably not the best move on my part, as it was such a contrast to the sweeter wines, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Finally, to cap off the tasting, I tried the Madeira, which was described by Lynne as being similar to drinking the crust of a crème brulée. Indeed it was, but it was outside my budget for the day. As much as I wanted to take home a case with me, my luggage restrictions were too tight, so I bought a bottle of Gamay Rouge. The deli is in the same room as the wine tasting, and has all kinds of good things to eat. I had a sausage and red pepper panino. My wife had a crab cake with dill mayonnaise, which was very good. There is a large picnic area where you can eat, but we elected to take the food with us on our trip back to the city. As for the self-guided tour, the cellar was decorated up for an event, it appeared. The exhibits are small, but it was interesting to learn how the winery got started, as well as how much it has grown. We took a short walk through the vineyards as well just after the cellar tour. There were still some grapes growing on the vines, which was a surprise. In summary, if I get a chance to go back to San Francisco, I will definitely visit V. Sattui again, and this time, I'm buying a case of wine! You can buy it online, but it's more fun to buy it in person.

Love this place. It has a good vibe! Many people come out here for wine tasting and picnic. They also have bbq and it becomes very popular and packed. Definitely worth stopping and checking out. I like their whites here.

V. Sattui is a great winery if you are visiting Napa but it can get very crowded especially around lunch time on weekends. They have a wide variety of wines, even some that are good for people who don't usually like wine such as their Gamay Rouge or grape juice. Their outdoor patio is a nice spot for a picnic too.

My wife and I were married here in 2014. We had been searching for a good destination in wine country that we felt could handle our families and provide a beautiful location and ceremony. And boy did they deliver! Their wine has been the talk of my family since, and the Princess-esque tower was the picture staple for everyone! Their barrel room brought a perfect location for our reception! The staff for both the public and private wine tastings are great people to get to know and they really care that you enjoy your experience. Their picnic grounds and deli are great places to enjoy a nice warm day!
