how an app made me healthy & athletic

tldr: the sheer convenience of this technology may be enough to keep you exercising and keep you healthier.
i wanted to be healthier, i really did, but 1hr+ workouts are difficult to stick with. last May I happen to come across the 12 Minute Athlete app, with the slogan: "DON'T WASTE YOUR LIFE IN A GYM."
long story short: this app does in 12 minutes what used to take me over an hour. your phone is really the only equipment you need, so your exercise routine isn't interrupted by travel or other life disruptions. even if the day gets crazy, 12min is short enough that i can do it even after the kids are in bed.
you pick which equipment you have (e.g. pullup bar), were "No Equipment" is a perfectly valid option, and you get a customized exercise routine. the app prompts you when to do the exercises and when to rest, and in 12 minutes you're done.
the results: obviously i now have a smaller waste size and look better, but that's not the most impressive thing. the most impressive thing is how good i feel. i'm turning 38 and i haven't felt this strong and athletic since i was 22.
this post wouldn't be complete if i didn't mention that there are also 7 minute workout apps out there, i've tried one, and it works great. i like the 12 minute one better because you can use equipment when you have it (and there are monthly challenges that switch up the routine nicely), but i bet that for many folks the 7 minute workout will be the right option. try them and see.
