I have said it before, and I will say it again: Posting frequent updates can drive a lot of traffic to your LinkedIn profile! In the last week alone, more than 3000 LinkedIn users viewed my updates, which resulted in more than 30 likes. That's what I call 'getting your name out there'!

Just had a great call with the Globalization and Localization Association. Lauren Foster has invited me to be the guest editor of an upcoming issue of GALA's Galaxy Newsletter dedicated to, wait for it: Localization Training. I couldn't be more thrilled!

This message from a student made my day:

"Hi Professor Muegge, I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that I got a translation job offer through my Linkedin last weekend. I ended up being able to talk them into a higher rate (0.20) than what they were initially willing to offer (0.14) thanks to what you taught us in class and the job ended up paying very well. It was also really nice to see that my Linkedin is getting me well-paying job offers. Thank you so much!"

Unbelievable: My article on how localization is different from translation is becoming an instant classic! It was published in February and has already been downloaded close to 10000 times! http://owl.li/uPl6H

I couldn't be more pleased: For the first time, more than 5000 articles were downloaded from my bibliography site in a single month (and this one is not even half way over). This brings the all-time downloads of my articles to 50000 - and counting! Not surprisingly, my most popular text is "How I teach localization," which was downloaded close to 7000 times since its publication last month. http://owl.li/uzrtl

Localization typically involves translating text that is directly linked to a product. In product-centric translation, consistency is extremely important. Here is why and how to achieve it http://owl.li/tOIYd

Not surprisingly - I also consider that article one of my best. Thanks for confirming that.
