About a month ago, when I was swimming 2.6 k in 45 min, I set myself an aggressive goal: 3 k in under an hour. And I am happy to report that today I swam 3 k in 53 min! (Not sure what role my new swim cap played in this achievement).

The Naples Art, Antique & Jewelry Show truly was an eye-opening experience: I saw many old friends (Alexander Calder, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein) and also made some new ones (top: Catalan artist Montse Valdés)

It's been barely a month that I joined Arthrex. Yet today I found myself participating in the first module of the Arthrex University Leadership Develop Program. Best of all: A large part of today's course was taught by none other than the Director of Corporate Communication himself, Dennis O'Keefe. Clearly, developing employees is a high priority at Arthrex - and I love it!

Today is the last day of the month, but for me, it was the first Bike to Work day since I started my new job at Arthrex. And I love the ride so much that I will do it every day from now on (weather permitting)!

In case you wonder: I will be responsible for developing and managing corporate language policies and processes - and yes, that includes translation and terminology management.

The title of the 'Language Education and Language Service - a Dialog' conference at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen turned out to particularly apply to the last part of the event. Due to time constraints, Prof. Gambier's (Uni Turku) and my Q&A were combined, and it just so happened that I ended up answering a question directed at him, and he used one of my slides in one of his responses. And almost everybody in the room started participating - until the moderator finally announced: "The symposium was over an hour ago, and if you are not leaving voluntarily, I am going to turn the lights off!
