Consumers love reviewer website YELP. BUT
It helps them find everything from doctors to dry cleaners
However, businesses that get slammed in Yelp's reviews are none too pleased.
HOW DO YOU MONITOR YOUR REPUTATION?
Yelp's filter uses an algorithm that tries to identify fake or biased reviews while showcasing reviews that appear to be authentic. But reputation management firms have always claimed that these reviews can be biased, unjustified.... Often, negative reviews seem to get more attention than positive ones of an establishment such a restaurant.
The problem is only Yelp and its algorithm can truly decide which reviews get posted to a businesses's website and which reviews get buried.
Yelp explains its lawsuit in a blog post: http://officialblog.yelp.com/2015/02/taking-a-stand-against-misleading-reputation-management-companies.html
