Scale of 1 -5 (1 being worst rating - 5 being the best rating) Atmosphere: 5 (Very cool upscale crowd. I like the idea that it is in the middle of a hotel with a skylight at the top. It is literally a building inside a building were those using the hotel can look down into the restaurant from their room.) Cleanliness: 5 (Super clean.) Menu: 4 (They have some very pricey dishes, some of which are really delicious and some not so much. If your just going in for drinks and appetizers I recommend their happy hour menu. Superb.) Service: 4 (Service here is pretty standard. But sometimes standard can be good. Given the quiet upscale atmosphere the service is not over the top but not under par. Which is nice when your having drinks with friends and you do not want to be interrupted. They come and go like ninjas with your food and drinks.) Sustain: I think it goes without saying that the environment is the key attraction. Never change locations. Improve: N/A Unique: It is my understanding a lot of important people will attend functions there. While I was there the Timber Wolves were there. Fail: N/A

Excellent breakfast. The hashbrown is great. Crab omelette was very good.

Better steaks in the city. Dessert was delicious. The brunch was so so. Nice and convenient when your staying at the nines, but better food can be found nearby for those brave enough to venture out in the rain.

This place is terrible. It’s basically a hotel lobby. They make it look like it’s located in the middle of an atrium but it’s not. It’s literally in the middle of the hotel and all the room’s balconies overlook it. It’s uber weird. Think of how hotels usually wrap around the pool area and have all the rooms overlook it… that’s how this is set up. But besides the truly horrendous environment the food is alright but completely over-priced. All in all, just go somewhere else. For half the price you could eat somewhere that has a great atmosphere and food that’s up to par with its price.

I visit Portland every year and have tried most of the local restaurants. This trip I stumbled upon Urban Farmer for lunch and was sickened I hadn't found it earlier! The decor is very unique and the vibe is very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and recommended the Tomato and Watermelon salad which was fabulous and I also ordered the Bacon Chicken Sandwich with Peach Jelly and Chili Sauce, delicious! Saturday night we had planned to go to EQ we called late for the registration and after keeping me on hold for 3 minutes they informed me they were fully booked so we got the idea to try Urban Farmer for dinner as well and it was the best choice we made! We were greeted again with a very friendly staff, our waitress was quite funny and recommended several dishes to us. We had the grass fed local Rib Eye which came out a perfect Medium-Rare and may have been one of the best steaks I have eaten. We also ordered several sides which I would recommend, the creamed spinach gratin, baby carrots and salt roasted radishes with spiced cream and pesto, and the twice baked fingerling potato tart with aged cheddar, bacon and chives. Each dish was a taste-gasm but the surprise of the night went to the cornbread of all things, just couldnt get enough of it (has our waitress bring out two extra helpings... as if our meal wasnt big enough already). The icing on the cake was after I checked in on Foursquare I got a nice response back from their Twitter account commenting on the photos I posted. Next year we are already locked in on staying at the Nines Hotel so we can eat at Urban Farmer (on their 8th floor) and have drinks on their 15th floor rooftop club, Departure.

a really cool spot in the middle of the nines. great food and great drinks and a super eclectic clientele. Its pretty pricey but well worth it if youve got someone to take there! I love the open layout of the place and the service is always top notch.
