When launching a WordPress site, there are certain things that need to be done before you launch it in order to maximize success. Be sure to understand the following before you make your site live.

Set Up a Domain for your WordPress Site
Secure your domain, then create a database and user for your new site location. Move the data and MySQL to this new spot, then point the domain to the new directory. Check out the site display to ensure it’s showing properly – look for any missing icons and other design issues. Test the links and pages to ensure that they all work properly and are pointing to the live site instead of the development environment.

Much like fashion and music, web design trends are also probe to becoming outdated at some point. What may have worked well in the past might not necessarily work that great today. As such, now is as good to review some of the web design trends that you might still be using and need to get rid of. Here is a list of trends that you need to ditch!

While these may have been commonly used, they are no longer “in style”. They can often be useless because they simply do not work. Hardly anyone actually clicks on them, and they can be invasive when visitors are trying to look for specific content. Even if the 1% of users actually do click, it’s typically only limited to the first slide.

Every once in a while, Google puts out a new algorithm to throw all internet marketers and website developers for a loop. The thing is, we need to stay on top of these changes in order to make sure the websites we are working on continue to rank high. It’s no secret that websites will fluctuate in ranking position from time to time – it’s all part of the game. This is normal and nothing to be alarmed about. Fluctuations that are restricted to just a couple of positions shouldn’t cause any concerns, though it can be disheartening to see your page rank fluctuate a great deal – for example, from 3rd spot to 18th.

Not only do changes in algorithms change the rank of your website, so do factors such as personalization and localization.
