End of January 1967, Aaron Neville peaks at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 with "Tell It Like It Is". The song is written by George Davis and Lee Diamond.

It was Neville's biggest hit, and he had to wait until 1991 before the reached top 10 in USA with another song.

The band Red Squares tops the charts with a cover of Four Season's smash hit: Sherry.

Red Squares was originally a British band. When they didn't make it big in GB they emigrated to Denmark and had several hits in Scandinavia. The signer, Geordie Garriock, is still active in the band that nowadays has mostly Danish members.

On the week ending January 7, 1967, Mamas and the Papas enters Billboard top 10 in the United States with "Words of Love". Later the same month, the song will peak at No. 5.

B-side on this single is "Dancing in the Street", a cover of the Martha and the Vandellas smash from 1964.

"Words of Love" is written by John Phillips, who wrote most of the material for Mamas and the Papas.
