We have in fact sold-out of Ubuntu phones for today's flash sale. Due to high demand this morning, many of you faced server issues which we apologies for.
As a result of the inconvenience and understandable frustration, we have decided to allocate an additional batch and hold another flash sale today at 3pm (CET.) We don't anticipate any further server issues and the BQ shop will be open until stock lasts - please note phones are available in Europe only. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

So far all they've achieved is they pissed me off :(
Wasted 2h today :(Feb 11, 2015
+David Radkowski it wasn't a Canonical server that overloaded, sorry for the frustration but it is worth the wait :)Feb 11, 2015
+Mark Shuttleworth true, nevertheless there's a fine line between whetting appetites and pissing customers off. I've lost over 2h of my time today trying to purchase #ubuntuphone. What was even more frustrating, few times servers crashed at the very last step, past filling forms in (over and over again) and clicking through all the steps. Eventually, when I got to the payment page the message said: out of stock. Splendid!
And it happened twice today, so I'm really annoyed :(Feb 11, 2015
maybe next flash sale at 7pm when most people don't have to work ? :-(Feb 11, 2015
It probably is a bit of a PR thing too and I for one do not mind that too much. What was annoying is not so much that the phones sold out so fast, but more how far you could get in the ordering process before being booted out due to BQ's server not being able to handle the onslaught.
But really, from the announcement it was clear, at least to me, that the first day would be a mad dash to be able to claim one of the first phones. For the bulk of the consumers I imagine there won't be too many problems ordering in the near future. Heck, some of them might even get their phone delivered at the same time as the orders that got through today.
All in all I thought the event was fun and I appreciate @bqreaders attempting to communicate best they could through Twitter. That being said, I might be a bit biased because I was one of the lucky ones getting an order through.Feb 11, 2015
+Mark Shuttleworth well the next time you want to do a flash sales with a OEM, plz take care of the infrastructure for them ^^Feb 11, 2015
