“Nineteenth century water law is meeting 20th century infrastructure and 21st century climate change.” - Bradley Udall

The nation’s largest reservoir, Lake Mead, will reach a record low this week, with climate change being a major factor. According to forecasts from the federal Bureau of Reclamation, the water levels will fall this week to their lowest point since it was first filled in 1937. This particular lake provides water for over 20 million people, and it currently at about 40 percent capacity.

What can be done to fix these issues?
Lake Mead, which is formed by the Hoover Dam, has been suffering for years as an expansive drought across the west coupled with rising temperatures and populations stresses the massive manmade body of water.

This is very alarming.
As early as now, forest rehab and strict adherence regarding environmental laws, and world wide campaign for climate change infos and action items. Temporarily, cloud seeding.
Earth needs restoration!

Veggie Tales: U.S. Fresh Vegetables Now Available in Philippines

Fresh celery, lettuce, and cruciferous vegetables from the United States are coming soon to markets in the Philippines.  On June 30, 2014, the Philippines formally lifted restrictions on the import of these temperate climate vegetables, which are difficult to grow locally, from producers in the United States.  This exciting development will relieve shortages and deepen agricultural ties between the two nations.

American producers previously enjoyed only limited access to the Philippine vegetable market, exporting $57,000 of such products (mostly celery) in 2013.  Trade experts predict that open market access will help these sales to reach $1 million within two years.  Such commerce will be an asset to the burgeoning food service and retail sectors in the Philippines.
