Benny Landa has transformed commercial printing with his work at Indigo and Landa Group. It is great to see his accomplishments recognized by the industry as he receives the 2018 Franklin Award.

A shout-out to all of our Pine Bluff employees who collected 3,000 school supplies over the past month to give to the Black Firefighters Association B.R.A.V.E. (Banishing Racial Animosity Vigorously Everywhere). We applaud your community service! http://bit.ly/2Owfnhl

We are officially petitioning the SEC's Rule 30e-3 because it is unfair and doesn't reflect what consumers want - to continue to receive paper-based communications. By using the concept of "implied consent", financial services companies will not mail statements and reports to consumers that don't officially "opt-in". Read more...

As a company that manufactures a broad line of specialty packaging papers used in the retail, quick serve and food service application, we love reading that an AF&PA report shows packaging papers up 4.4% in June.

According to Mark Hahn of the Target Report, June was a quiet month for M&A activity but had a couple of significant closures which he suggests might be the warning shot over the bow that significant consolidation and industry contraction is on the horizon. Take a look.

We are fighting to ensure consumers continue to have a choice in receiving critical information (financial statements, tax documents, and pharmaceutical inserts) in a paper-based format. The growth in readership for the AARP magazine certainly confirms that our nation's older generation values print. And, when the headline says younger, it refers to 50+. http://bit.ly/2K3TTK4

Thanks to Bill Pope, our Assistant Mill Manager at our Mohawk Valley facility in New York, for organizing the Father's Day NFL Youth Flag Football tournament this past weekend! Twin Rivers sponsored the event by providing t-shirts and gatorade for 36 teams! We already got a nice note from parent Shannon Kelly, thanking us for supporting the local community!

Packaging World has a great article on plastic and its impact on marine litter with single-use items being the biggest problem. A research study from Project Mainstream states that 72% of plastic is not recovered, with 40% heading to a landfill. National Geographic replaced the plastic shipping bag with a paper! It was ironic that the Thomas Report reported paper bag sourcing is up 152% month-over-month the same day we closed on Pine Bluff, a paper mill that makes unbleached sack kraft paper used to produce grocery and retail bags. Take a look at the report: http://bit.ly/2MpYNzj
