If you’re heading out on a long drive, make sure you’re sitting in the right position before you head off. Tilt your seat to ensure the bottom of your thighs are evenly supported and adjust the back of the seat so that your shoulders are fractionally behind your hips. If your joints to become achy and sore make sure to take regular breaks where you can get out and help the blood flow around your back and spine.

This can decrease stress to the spine. Less weight on any one arm can also reduce the risk of developing a sprain or injury.
